actually, the hotel is in japan town. it's an ok location (it can get dicey in that neighborhood south of geary, though.) as far as public transportation, you can take the 38 to the park (it's only a couple blocks from your hotel and you can get off within a couple blocks of the park.)
and muni actually refers to all the public transportation in the city (from cable cars to buses to those lines that run underground.)
