    Perhaps a story will ignite the Thread.

    So a good friend of mine convinced her female co-worker to come to Coachella with us this past April. I had gotten out of a 5 year relationship back in February, so when we met I was very much still in the pity party/one night stand phase but instantly we hit it off. Since then, we've hung out a bunch and it started to seem like there might be more than friendship there. After consulting my inner circle, most agreed with my assessment and pushed me to ask her on a date. Last Friday, I finally built enough confidence to do it and she said yes which I was obviously elated about. Sunday my phone rings; it's one of my best friends and former college roommate who lives in San Diego. He proceeds to tell me how he and this girl had become really close since Coachella as well and he had really strong feelings for her. He happened to be in Philly this past weekend for work and this girl actually crashed at his hotel room Saturday night. The next morning she told him about us and that was the first either of us knew of the other's intentions.

    This is the first love triangle I've ever been in. Definitely feels like I'm the odd man out here. The girl says she really wants to go on a date with me and my friend in SD has admitted he has no intentions of being in a long term relationship. Really torn on what to do here because I'm a big fan of this girl. Not a big fan of sloppy seconds.
