After having seen that set and then getting Recently, I don't think I would have left disappointed. Sure, Ants would have made that encore better, but given that setlist Shake Me doesn't ruin it at all.

This is where we disagree. It's not the same as closing with Last Stop. That's a super rare huge song for the hardcore fan base that never gets played. I would equate what you just said to Watchtower (cover song just like RITFW), Ants, Billies, and Two Step. We all like those songs but this is why they're not comparable- when the band ends with those songs I think the majority of this board thinks "okay business as usual." Great songs and we do want them to close, but it's nothing awe inspiring. They've done the same thing a million times, just like PJ has with the songs I listed. That's all I'm saying. All great songs and Shake Me def sucks as a closer but PJ's closing song is not what makes their show special and leaves me wanting more at all. Just personal preference I guess though.

Was just looking and I see that the Top 3 songs Jeff has been on (so basically the most played songs since 2008) are: Ants Marching (255), DDTW (232), Shake Me (230). Only others above 200 plays: #41, Grey St, Jimi, Seven, Two Step, Why I Am, You & Me.

Most of my shows were long ago. I've only been twice since BWGGK came out and neither show featured SMLAM.

So I wouldn't mind seeing it, just never as a closer.

To be fair they HAMMERED on BW after it came out. I didn't realize but at the gigs I went to in Europe 2009, about 1/2 of the songs were BW!!! I got the whole album after two gigs minus Squirm and Baby...

Those Europe 2009 setlists were some of the worst I've seen....(No offense)

Yeah, looking back I feel the same (9 BW songs, i think on each night!!!). However they were my first shows, and so I had an unbelievable time.

Mostly for geographic reasons. I moved to a semi remote part of Oregon which meant that shows got to be a pain in the ass to get to. The Gorge was a 10 hour drive. Shoreline was about 7. There were some years where I thought about making the trip but it just never really panned out.

By the time I moved to Portland, which isn't quite as far from the Gorge, I had a kid so my ability to do cool shit kind of took a beating.

Eventually all things come around again and in 2014 I listened to UTTAD for the first time in years. So many memories came flooding back and I decided that I really needed to catch Dave again while the band is still touring. Luckily I now live in Southern California which guarantees at least one show nearby.

Caught the show at Chula Vista in 2014 and Irvine in 2015. Thinking about making the trek up to the Gorge this year if all works out. Even if the band has lost a step, they're still a damn good show and I intend to catch more in the coming years while I still can.
