Nice! Well as a woman, I would say you need to figure out which of all these lovely songs people have recommended which is HER favorite. They mean different things to different people.

im not really sure yet. We have been friends for a long time, but just now we have started a relationship. So I'm not real sure, I figured fellow ants could give me a good idea of a few songs to choose from, and people have. Thank you everyone! I'm thinking right now, I'll Back You Up or # 40, but there are many good choices.

I really don't understand some of the songs I've seen in this thread being love songs. Stay or leave is about a breakup, lover lay down is about a break up, crash is nowhere near being a love song, #41 is about a breakup and Where aere you going is also about a breakup of sorts. I'll back yuo up is even about parting ways with somebody.YOu can't go wrong with crush.

I guess I'm relegated to Oh, I still find it applicable to a degree as a love song, to a grandfather or otherwise. And Granny I agree- "I'm so glad our paths crossed this time today"-- new love.

I recently started listening to Say Goodbye a lot and I think its the most passionate song Dave ever wrote, even more so than Crush. Just the way he sings it, you can get a sense of pleading for it to happen.

That and the "I will wait for you, I will wait for no one but you" line. He's willing to pass up everybody else to wait for her to return to him.



And Granny, Dave first played it 2 weeks after he met Ashley, and its about love, so its easy to make the connection between the song and those feelings Dave had when he first met her.

Oh absolutely agree with you that it is more about infatuation than love, but I think it is a great peek into a small love affair that is obviously so intense that they have to have each other, even if for only one night.

In the beginning of a relationship this would be appropriate because infatuation typically exists before the real love is established.

As far s Say Goodbye being more passionate than crush, I can see that. Say goodbye hits me hard, b/c in my mind it's about that one night of passion b/t you and a best friend (of the opposite sex of course). At least that's what it seems about to me. That person with whom you share it all, but have never taken it to the next level with and then one night you're together...

and it just happens. It's happened to me. And it is a special moment, but at the same time you realize it can't be and it was just one night. It just happened, but while it lasted it was great, but it could never be more than one night.
