Re: The best version of Bartender is...

Video of Bartender from 12.14.02

http://www.sendspace.com/file/5bi3u3

I used a .VOB > .MPEG trial to get this, so I had to include the ending of Too Much, however all the good bits of this Bartender are included.

Some bits to watch out for.
7:50 until 8:10 - watch Carter’s smile grow ever larger as he breaks it down in the old crew style and Dave’s extended “plea-ah-ah-ah-ease”

9:08 until 9:50 – sheer brilliance – the stuff dream shows are made out of

I have almost 1TB of live shows on my HDD's alone.

All great versions mentioned and I personaly love lt3. Always has been one of my fav's and thats because the song was young and what it has evolved into. Now, this was the first time, with this song, that DAVE, took it to another level. We have had awesome wails and alternate lyrics, but to hear this was somthing special. It has gone to whole new things since then but the 4-7 version is 1 of a kind while others are diferent, yet same. Like in Karate kid, diferent but same! Now 4-7 is a 1 shot deal that will never happen again. As we have seen like seek up 7-30-01. Some nights are special and daves mind is special, its unexplainable. It is what it is. They are still all great. Cheers.

I don't think the best version of Bartender contains a 9 minute Butch elevator solo.

I like Folsom, Staples Center, and 4/7/02 more than this version, but I had never heard this version before and it is incredible! Additionally, the quality of the video is better than any other Bartender I have seen! Keep them coming!

Yeah it's a Sinclair production I think, really nice job.
Have you heard the job Coffin and Roi do on 07.25.01?
I don't have video, but I can upload the audio. It's glorious.

It's a shame the Folsom DVD doesn't have a lossless PCM 2.0 track on it and Fenton wasn't on crack when he decided to do a camera cut every 0.5 seconds because Folsom would be a lot more fun to watch that way.

Coffin takes over at the 6-minute mark and owns the song for the next 3 minutes. However the play between Coffin and Roi at the end makes the entire 18 minutes of this worth listening to.

Other highlights of this show are the awesome #41 with Bela Fleck and The Flecktones and Jeff Coffin's awesome solo in Watchtower.

Craig Willoughby's tape is really excellent, I'd highly recommend adding this show to your collection if you don't already have it.

I was listening to that show the other day on DMBStream. It wasn't bad. A lot of people won't like it because it has a plethora of Everyday songs and the unforgettable Lovely Ladies, but there are some good performances. I really like the Grace is Gone from that show. And yeah.. that is the best Bartender.

The Lillywhite Sessions blows away any live one.

I tend to love any version from 2000, 2008, or 2009. In other words, any version w/out Butch.

This may not be what you have in mind, but the DMBLive @ Appalachian State has that in the intro.
