I like the praising of Dan Duquette too.. One of the worst GM's ever. and will set the Orioles back another decade

Typical Scrocks coming into a thread and not knowing wtf is going on. Theo was great at building a farm system. Then yes he did trade it all away for Agon. Which is fine. But he was horrible with FA signings. Look at what he did last off season. Jenks, Cameron??? Jenks is already on the 60 day DL. If Theo continues the way he has been the Cubs will be good in like 10 years. Thankfully the GM before him stocked him up with veteran talent to put around Pedroia and co. He is one of the best baseball minds prospects wise but its a totally different story FA wise.

Yea i mean Jenks was a pretty cheap flyer. Same with Cameron. JD Drew was solid. Crawford had his first bad year ever.

Even Dice K had uses. Dont see it

Cameron and Jenks were not that cheap. Crawford is a horrible deal if you wan to look at it money wise. Which I usually don't because I don't give a shit about the money. They paid a lot to talk to Dicek but his contract is not that bad.

You could argue they were the two biggest pieces. And a lot of the first one was because of Duquette.

    yea those arent bad signings.

2 15 for cameron is not that bad for a team that prints money. and 6 million for jenks based on his past is more than reasonable.

Yall loved Crawford deal before he sucked. I wouldnt have given him that money but i think John Henry wanted to. (Yes i know he says he didnt but i think he is lying)

I certainly wouldn't say that he BARELY hits 88-89. Hell, his average velocity last season was 88.5MPH

If we take away the disastrous last year, Matusz's average fastball is around 91.5MPH. So....

They are pretty even. Both have some serious OBP failures. Sorianos legs just quit on him but he still has power. When Crawfords legs quit on him it will be worse than soriano..

Then again he still has that stupid LF wall to help mask any shortcomings

I like having Crawford but like I said I don't care about the money. And this team that "prints money" just dumped their SS to save a few million bucks.

...And Soriano is just terrible defensively. Just horrible.

It's amazing that they both put up the same OBP last year

    Yeah, I'd rather have Crawford.

Seeing as how he's been better than Soriano his entire career....WAR: Crawford > Soriano

True however crawford has a ton more value in defense.

...But when has he ever been an exclusive-DH?

If we're taking batting alone, Edgar Martinez is the answer.

if the Orioles had to choose between Crawford or Soriano as their DH, I think they would choose Soriano, as would I.
