Re: The MLB Thread

My buddy's a huge Tigers fan and went to the TO game on Sunday, he said he's been to World Series games in Detroit that were not as nuts as Sunday's regular season game in Toronto. Pretty awesome.

Went to last night's game, bottom of the 10th 2-run shot by Goins, I was okay with Cleveland tying it up in the ^9th as it meant Edwin got another shot at the hit streak but the hit never surfaced. That's okay though, I loved Green when he played here, such a great swing. Cool he still has the franchise record.

Stay away from Sections 516R and 515R if you're anywhere higher than @ row 15. It goes up to row 37 and you're so high you're behind the floodlights, they block the jumbotron and the sound from the stadium seems to avoid you. It's like you're watchign from another stadium, or at home with just your rear speakers plugged in to a 5.1 signal, so detached. I usually get tickets @ 525 behind home plate nosebleeds, great view and very loud crowd, last night's seats were a little surreal. Also, pitch black, lol. Good place to shag I suppose.

If the Jays keep playing into October I hope we get a new stadium, the SkyDome has to be the league's worst ballpark right now.

Skydome is definitely not the worst stadium. That award goes to the Oakland Coliseum.

Have fun!!!!! I think the last Giants/Dodgers I went to was back in 1999. That was so much fun. 56,000 fans chanting "Beat L.A., Beat L.A." The whole atmosphere is electric. Even went to Chavez Latrine in 1996. Just happened to be in L.A. and the Giants were in town. Hideo Nomo Vs Shawn Estes. I do believe the Giants won that game.

So how much longer does Arrietta have to keep this up to have a shot at the Cy Young? Dude has had one of the best stretches in MLB history.

12-1 with 0.99 ERA over his past 15 starts, with a no-hitter sprinkled in, and hasn’t allowed an earned run in 29 innings.

They are putting something to the tune of $250mil into the stadium over the next few years. Seat upgrades and dirt infield for next year and then (Hopefully) grass to replace the turf for the 2018 season.

Oh, and I think they are putting new fabric on the roof (to allow some diffused sunlight through for the grass) and new tracks/mechanics to cut the open/close time in half.

God damn, I knew Greinke was good this, but man...I guess there's no argument unless Arrietta breaks the consecutive innings no scoring streak.

It's interesting. I just re-read his tweet and I finally understand your point. It could be what you're saying or it could be that he is a bigoted dipshit.

Either way, why the fuck is he tweeting something like that anyway? He has to be a complete fucking moron to think that's appropriate when you work for ESPN. They fire people for anything.

Right....and that's how I always feel about these public figures. Why even risk it? You have to be an idiot to post something like that if you are in the spotlight.

To a lesser extent, it could apply to people who aren't pubic figures. I am not about to post something that could be portrayed as bigoted or poke fun at a football player's dead brother....it's just not smart. I don't ever want to be at risk of losing or not getting a job because of something that lives on the internet.

It's not ESPN's fault that the people they employ choose to say really stupid things.

It is, however, their right to discipline these peoe accordingly for saying those dumb things.

but it's schilling's fault that people didn't read his tweet correctly?

agree with the discipline point. they can do what they want which is why Chris carter was on Mike and Mike this morning instead of suspended.
