I'm really interested to see how these last few shows are. Do they play what/how they have been playing or go balls to the wall knowing the end is near. Hopefully the latter, especially since I am going to the Gorge.

I hope for your sake and everyone going to the next couple weeks of shows it's the latter, but the band seems like they are counting down the minutes until this tour is over

I totally agree with you on that, so I've definitely tempered my expectations. I'm just looking forward to being somewhere beautiful, taking only my second vacation in 10 years, relaxing, and being able to listen to my favorite music in the world.

Oh I'm sure regardless of the sets it will be an amazing time. I'm jealous of everyone that will be there

I'm really curious about the Gorge this year.
That Irvine set was strange, I didn't watch it all but it's not what I expected after a break. It seems like they are biding time until the Gorge.

Part of me feels like they can't wait for everyone to watch their tail lights fade into the mountains lol

not sure where you get your supernatural powers of observation regarding the band's mindset. These last two sets fit right in with all the one-offs and some of the N1s this summer. reading this thread and the setlist chat thread, it is amusing that some of the same people (not you) seem to be all bent out of shape that the last few nights have not been noticeably better than average summer shows to-date.

They're not biding time. Gorge won't be anything special. I hope I'm wrong but they're on cruise control. And playing uninspired.

I think the sets have been fine.

But most of the band members have posted about looking forward to or almost a countdown to the end of the tour....maybe I'm reading to much into it but seems to me at least they are ready for this summer tour to be over.

It's been a hot summer can't say I blame them

Well, it's only human nature to loo forward to something like that, of course. I'm hoping for some good sets. I settle for three sets like the two that DC and SPAC got.

I wonder if N3 will be anything special, acknowledging it's their last full band show for a while. Something like a double encore maybe? I don't want to have any high expectations though.

Would be cool to see the band bring all the roadies out at the end for a bow so we can cheer and thank them for all they've done.

I really don't see N3 being anything than just another show. Unless they 100% know that it's the last time they will be on a stage together I think they just go play the 20ish songs Dave chooses and they go start their break.

Yeah, they're totally ready for the break. I've never seen Rashawn and Jeff look more bored than they did at Chula. There were times when Rashawn was just staring blankly into the stage floor. No movement, not counting, just staring blankly. Almost missed an entrance once or twice I feel like too.

I spent an ass ton of $$ to get pit nites 1 & 3 at the Gorge this year because I was really hoping for something special. As the tour has gone on though, I've tempered my expectations. I totally get needing the break though, that's actually why I am going. This will be only my second vacation in ten years since I started my business and I am so, so, so, so tired and burnt out. So I feel for the guys in that regard, my only hope is that the last nite they realize that this is their last time for a while and try to make it something special.

Well 11 of the 20 songs played have been played less than 10 times this tour. Nice try though!

What are you really expecting? 20 new songs? Peter to come out with Roi and play only songs prior to 1994, and your specific favorite versions and lyrics? Perhaps they could use improv lyrics that everyone knows so you can sing along?

For me the novelty wore off years ago. Still love the band and all, but to me Tim and Rashawn probably need to go. Also I'm just not a fan of Coffin's style. Maybe it's just I loved Leroi's style so much. I went to Chula Vista and left before the encore. Most of the people around us were sitting down. It's just not the same anyone. I guess now that I'm 46 and have been there since the early 90's that's just probably a natural thing. It was good to see Robert Randolph, love that guy.

I'd just prefer now that they play smaller venues ... and JUST play acoustic. There are too many times where Tim just makes me cringe.

I guess now that I'm 46 and have been there since the early 90's that's just probably a natural thing. It was good to see Robert Randolph, love that guy.

I'd just prefer now that they play smaller venues ... and JUST play acoustic. There are too many times where Tim just makes me cringe.
I left Pelham before the encore. I just looked over the Chula set after the "11 of 20 songs have been played less than 10 times this tour" comment. I counted 5 songs I would have been excited about hearing at this point, Proudest Monkey, Minarets, Recently, Typical (bc I've never seen it live) and Two Step. And although I'd like to have seen Typical, I have seen videos of it in its current form and it isn't that good.
