Dave talked about how doing acoustic/electric sets basically "doubles" their song catalog during that Rolling Stone interview, but there was almost zero crossover last year. There were basically songs that were only played acoustic and songs that were only played electric. They've already played more songs in both sets this year (Raven, Satellite, SMTS>ASTB>Too Much, BBN, Crash, Everyday, Ants, WTWE) than they did all of last year. That's what they should have been doing all along if they were going to fully embrace this format.

Updated after Atlanta 5/30/15 show:

34 songs played in the acoustic set this summer.

11/34 - new this year.
23/34 - played last year.

2/6 openers did not open a set last year.
3/6 closers did not close a set last year.

Most played songs - Snow Outside (6 plays), then WWYS and Jane (5 plays).

11 songs debuted in the acoustic set in 2015 that weren't in the acoustic set in 2014: Anyone Seen The Bridge, Belly Belly Nice, Everyday, Gravedigger, Raven, So Much To Say, The Song That Jane Likes, The Stone, Too Much, When The World Ends, Where Are You Going

Playing The Stone (and pretty much this entire set) validates the argument that this band is capable of so much more than they often put out. It's not a negative bullshit comment, it furthers the conversation. Your post on the other hand...

This is a message board and, more specifically, a thread designed to discuss a setlist happening for a show that none of us are at. If you can find one post that is "necessary" then I would love to see it. As for the post you're talking about, it was a very relevant point, regarding one of the most debated issues surrounding the band right now -- so that's about as necessary as a message board comment can get, IMO.
