Though, they don't technically list Riverbend as the venue -- 7/12 is night 1 of the "Bunbury Music Festival." God I'd be pissed if they headlined that garbage.

Just checked this out. It looks like that festival will take place in downtown Cincinnati.

Friday night show! Hofbrahaus followed by DMB and I won't have to drive back that night to go to work the next day!

I doubt this is likely because Sawyers Point is tiny. DMB would attract too many people to hold the event there! The radio stations hold events there! http://www.cincinnatiparks.com/sawyer-point-park

The other side is that both stadiums are really close by! The Reds are not in town that weekend! The new casino will be open!!! However I doubt it will be at Sawyers point!

Also Bunbury is selling 3 day tickets for $110. IF DMB were a headliner, even for just one night, 3 day tix would be a lot more than this.
Plus they let kids in for free!!!

DMB will not be playing at Bunbury!

Riverbend is listed as the venue at the Warehouse site, so no stadiums. Tix are usually 70$, or 50$ for lawn.

stop playing that dump riverbend and play great american ballpark!! saw this is a friday show and that the reds were out of town....then saw its riverbend....UGH!!
i will say, if you sit in the pavilion (not extreme right or left) it's not a bad place to see a show. forget the lawn....horrible views....and bathrooms will probably be flooded with urine and crap before show even starts!!

How would you guys say Riverbend relates overall to say Deer Creek (Sets, atmosphere...all of it)

I've seen a bunch of shows at Riverbend. The lawn sucks and there is a lot of obstructed views because there are some pretty wide pillars for the amphitheater. I think it's a fun place to see Dave though. A little more chill than most venues I'm sure, but I think they like to play there, even though the venue is kind of crappy.

I saw my first DMB shows at Deer Creek this summer and loved it. I don't even know if the two venues are comparable. I give the nod to Deer Creek definitely. But if you live in the area going to both of them is fun.

This year is a good year for DMB in Cincy. OAR opener, the concert isn't in August, which is a good thing because of the humidity. Plus Bunbury is going on the same weekend. Last year I went to two days of Bunbury and went to a DMB show in Pittsburgh the same weekend. It was an awesome mix of music.

So typically with Riverbend taking place through the week, we just drive back directly after the show, but now with it being on Friday we are thinking of staying somewhere near Cincy. Maybe one of the casinos. Any suggestions?

Casino downtown opens in less than a week. It is located 5 miles from the venue and is located right off the highway. Should be a good spot.

I live about an hour from this venue and I make the trip every year. Even though it isn't world class, I do not think it is as crappy as some of the people here are saying. Pav > Lawn for sure though, the view from the lawn is not great but the sound is good in the lawn. Jimmy Buffet is also playing there that same week I believe if your into him as well.

Jesus....all the negativity in this thread has me a bit leery that I put in a request for tickets to Riverbend.....Hope it all turns out.

So that being said, is there any camping scene for DMB fans around this stop? If not, then where do all the fans stay? I want to be where the party is.....
