**possible nyc superbowl show?**

I was on the NFL website today and clicked on a story, which led me to this link http://www.togetherwemakefootball.co...c075727600022d on this page you will see a graphic for the VH1 Super Bowl Concert, a closer look at the picture got me all warm and fuzzy... Just wondering if anyone has heard anything more about this or if I am dreaming.

On the first link, if you scroll down to under the big heading "You could win the trip of a lifetime...", there appears to be a small pic of Dave Matthews Band on stage, with the writing "VH1 Super Bowl Concert".

Hate to put a damper on this rumor but I just spoke with a friend of mine who is in the radio/music business and asked if he heard anything about this vh1 concert. He told me the last he heard was Kings of Leon were the scheduled act. Guess we'll have to wait and see

^ i don't care who the act is. The 5 day Super Bowl package would be awesome. Dmb would just be icing on the cake.

The other story that I posted said there was going to be 5 separate shows, so Kings of Leon being a scheduled act doesn't rule DMB out, just fills in a blank on the undercard...

We should start to see DMB do more acts like this in the future. They have been around long enough and have a big enough following to where Super Bowl watchers fit their age demographic of fans.

Exactly, there's going to be more than 1 act- similar to the final 4 concert shows in Atlanta back in April.

that being said, I live 3 miles from metlife, and would LOVE to go to a dmb show at a small venue like it stated. OH BOY

Yeah I live in Bergen County about 15-20 minutes from the venue... not sure where they'd hold the concert though.

only thing i could think of would be Best Buy Theater or the theater at MSG. I cant think of another venue that holds over 1-2K people but not the normal arenas/dmb venues

I would also think if tickets are being 'given away' potentially even the day of, most if not all of these venues would need to be GA, no?

central park/times square would definitely be options if that's the case.

I am hoping you are right but I think I disagree. I think with each year that passes they are becoming more and more irrelevant. I think their window of opportunity to do a Super Bowl halftime show has passed

Bergen PAC in Englewood. I wouldn't get too excited though. The picture VH-1 is using is so small that it may just be a stock photo.

There isn't a snowballs chance in hell that the NFL or the TV networks would put Miley on the halftime show ever!

It'll be interesting to see how Bruno Mars does though and the direction they take it for the Super Bowl after that.

What in really getting out of this rumor is that, as the front page said, there could potentially be a winter/spring tour in the US if they play. In theory they wouldn't just do one show.
