    Just saw them tonight at the Beacon...they played all of Aja....and David Crosby came out and they covered Wooden Ships. What a fantastic show.

    It's interesting how Steely Dan doesn't get the Skynyrd argument. I know SD has always been essentially two guys (despite starting as a band) but there's one original member left and a bunch of hired hands. No one berates them as a glorified cover band the way they do Skynyrd.

    I think the fact that it was always such a collective (other than Don and Wally) kinda helps. There were always so many different, talented people contributing that continuing on honors that spirit of the project.

    Steely Dan has always been a collection of amazing sessions musicians, with Donald Fagen and Walter Becker....now it's a collection of amazing session musicians with Donald Fagen. He doesn't like calling it Steely Dan either i've heard. He wants to tour under Donald Fagen and the Steely Dan Band....but that probably doesn't sell out 5 nights at the Beacon.

    It's amazing to me that as much as I love Yacht Rock, I just can't get into Steely Dan. It just doesn't do it for me.

    I do love the song Peg though.
