Sorry again. In any event, yes, the VR or IS is to stabilize the lens which is only needed at slower shutter speeds... Here, do this, take pictures at progressively slower shutter speeds, same picture (say like 3 pictures, one at 1/125, 1/30, 1/8). Then look at them. You'll note that it gets less sharp as you go slower. Thats cause your hand wobbles. Under like 1/15 or 1/8 will almost never been 100% clear. And at like 1/4 a second you will NEVER be able to get a clear shot no matter how steady you try to make your hand. (It might look steady on the camera but when you put it on the pc, it won't be perfect)
