Just got in the door from night out with The Local. She was much more fun then I expected her to be. It was missing that cultural divide but it didn't stop us.

She took us to this bar called "Get Well". It's a micro-brewery with old school arcade games in the back. By the time we had finished the initial conversations it was too busy for us to get in any arcade games. It's too bad really. There was an old school Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Game that was screaming out my name.

Alas, we decided to goto another pub and have some drinks there as Get Well was too busy. So we get there. shoot the shit for a bit and she's like, "Oh. I live so close". Yeah you do.

She starts talking about this guitar she has and how it never gets played etc etc. I inform her I play music and had done so for a living for a brief period of time in my life. If she's interested, I'd love to play her a couple of songs.

She agrees but stipulates, "Okay! But we're not having sex. I mean it. I'm not just doing that girl thing where I say that to be lady like. We're not doing it".

Okay, fine. If you have booze i'm totally fine with it.

So we get to her place, she cracks open the wine and we start in on that. I proceed to play her a couple of songs. Nothing too crazy; Blackbird, I Want You Back, and an original.

She's into it and proposed we move things over to the bed. All the while, she's still doing the I don't want to have sex with you bit. Her fear is that it'll be a one night stand. Totally reasonable.

I tell her what I tell most women in this case. "Look, I've never understood the idea of a one night stand. If someone is looking to hate fuck someone then I guess that would make more sense. However, sex is awesome. I'm at least going to have sex with you a couple more times, so have no fear about this being a one night stand.

Overall. Good night. She was much better looking naked then with her clothes on. I thought that was a pleasant surprise.

Yep I have a negligent driving conviction and I'm still scared of driving all the way up there to get turned away...you can pay something like $300 to get a good character exemption, but I don't think Canada is worth that much

Last night:

A lady I used to know in college came by for dinner. I hadn't seen her in probably 6 years. I said i'd make her food and we'd drink. She was always really fun from what I remember and we got along well. It was rather nice to catch up with her. But good lord has she changed. She was always very pretty, great smile, l. However, she is now a fitness instructor and in GLORIOUS shape. She grew her hair long, went back to her natural hair colour (dirty blonde) and TONED up. I couldn't believe it. We ate food and finished by maybe 7:30. We then proceeded to just drink whiskey. Our main activity was drinking whiskey.

She looks at the clock, "Troy, It's 11:40. We've been drinking whiskey for 5 hours."

"Oh shit. That's wild."

"And you haven't even kissed me yet."

"Oh. Well. No? Come here then."

What a good night. I haven't had that much fun in a while. My goodness.

I haven't posted an update in a while so here it goes, by day:

Last Wednesday she invited me over to her apartment pretty late because we were 95% sure we were getting a day off from work on Thursday. I wanted to beat the snow so I grabbed some wine and hot cocoa and went over. We spent the most of the night drinking and talking. Before we were about to head to bed she wanted to make our relationship official. So I'm officially off the market again, folks.

Thursday DC got hit with about 6-8 inches of snow so we had the day off. Spent most of the day in bed watching movies and making out. We eventually motivated around 6 because it was her friend's boyfriend's birthday and they were having dinner/drinks out. I ended up meeting about 10 of her friends and she seemed pretty excited about the whole thing. We all got along well and ended up going to bed around 1.

Friday the government had a 2 hour delay, and since I work half days on Friday, we decided to stay in bed again. It was Valentines day so I didn't have anything planned since we just made it official Wednesday evening. I had to pick my roommate up from DCA around 4 so we spent the day walking around Old Town Alexandria and the water.

Saturday I invited her back out to Alexandria to have some drinks with my friends. Again, things went really well and everyone seemed to like her and click. She ended up spending the night at my apartment because we had to be up early Sunday for brunch.

Sunday we had brunch with her best friend and her boyfriend (the same one from Thursday) because it was his actual birthday. Ended up doing unlimited mimosas and were both pretty drunk by 1 after starting at 11. We walked back to her place and alllllllmost hooked up. We went out for dinner around 7 and walked around the monuments at night (which shockingly I've never done before).

Seeing her again tonight for dinner and a movie. Things have been great so far and I'm really starting to fall for her. It's been about a month of talking/hanging out but if feels closer to 6. Anyways, sorry for the drawn out update, these are just the cliff notes. Finally excited to have something real again.

agreed. sleeping together needs to come first before making something official. you need to know if you're compatible in bed, otherwise it could be really awkward
