That was a kinda weird review. Didn't even acknowledge that Dress Blues was a cover or that the interlude in Junkyard was a Floyd cover. And he makes Castaway sound like a bad song because it reverted back to ZBB's original sound. Has he never heard Toes?!

And never has Frank Sinatra ever be-bopped.

EDIT: Just realized that was written by you Sorry to sound so harsh

Not to shabby after the first listen though. Some up's and down's but overall pretty solid

I really like the album. Their live shows are all over the place from a genre stand point and this album really captures that feeling. I'm looking forward to seeing the new stuff performed live this summer!

Re: Zac Brown Band - any fans?

So I've listened to the new album three times through today, and upon further reflection, I have to say that my original critique was probably a little too harsh. I think I was just so taken aback by Beautiful Drug opening the album that it really soured the rest of the first listen. Expecting it the 2nd and 3rd times through, I actually think the album is pretty solid, but still all over the place. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it really just feels like a collection of songs rather than an album, if that makes any sort of sense at all.

After 3 full listens, I'd put it at around a 7.2/10. Major deductions were for the overly pop-sounding tracks but overall it's a solid effort. Favorites are Homegrown, Heavy is the Head, Bittersweet, Castaway, and Junkyard.

After several listens through, I'm really loving this album (minus the first two tracks). As someone mentioned before, it's all over the place, but truly captures their live show and range of genres they cover. I don't know what it is about One Day, but that's my favorite track right now. Junkyard is a beast of a tune.

Digging most of the album, agree with pretty much everyone else, so many different genres on here. My negatives: Tomorrow Never Comes - reminds me of a mumford mixed with One Direction. Beautiful Drug - just don't like the production of the song..is that auto tone I hear?

I have a feeling the band wanted to have some stark contrast between songs to fit with the whole "Jekyll & Hyde" theme.

Agreed. Especially evident with Mango Tree and Heavy is the Head.

Love most of the album because it shows their talent and diversity well but Beautiful Drug was a swing and a miss. It hurts even more because it's the first song on the album. Dress Blues is such a phenomenal cover.

Was curious about tonight's show (it's in my backyard - almost literally) and was able to pull pit tickets. It's 2 hours until showtime.

Aside from Mango Tree, which I really can't get into, and a couple more I am really enjoying this album. The new Junkyard is badass

    wow....

not quite what I was expecting, but I guess I really should've paid attention to the album title lol. Not too shabby of an album though. Very diverse and all over the place. Interesting.

I was just checking out some set lists and noticed Bela Fleck sat in on Junkyard and Tomorrow Never Comes last week in Nashville. Wonder if there is anything up on YouTube...

The last few shows they have played nearly all of the album if I'm not mistaken. I would link but I'm on mobile.

That is the most recent set I can find that is non-festy and yes, they played the entire album. Still not a back looking set for an album tour imo

Saw them last night. The production on the album sucks. Beautiful drug and tomorrow never comes are good when they're stripped down live.

Only weird thing was Junkyard. There is choreography and Gwar costumes when they played it in the encore.

They blow DMB away live at this point.

Similar to the Day of the Dead costumes last year? Any idea?
