remember, half the people in Phoenix are Chicago transplants. The Cubs won this one handily but they are far from America's team.

I don't really think they are that far from America's team. Everyone either hates/loves the Yankees. The Red Sox are probably the most worthy of "America's team" but I think the Cubs would be #2. But maybe that's my bias...

same thing happens when you go to many other cities, San Diego especially. I am not saying they are America's team, but they have a following all over the country that no other team that I have seen has.

i dont know about anyone else. but ive watched all televised games so far, and i cant stand to listen to len kaster and bob brenly. they are so boring. in my book nothing will compare to steve stone. i liked chip. but for every game i watch from now on will have the tv volume down and the radio volume way up. santo and hughes are some of the best anouncers ive ever listened to. and you can help but love santo.

Hahahahahaha, wait and see my friend. And while you're at it, stay in the St. Louis thread and stop disturbing the peace like a typical Cardinal fan...

Game starts in 5... Maddux vs. Ortiz. Since I can't watch it, I'll be on Gameday...

I flipped back and forth from the Red Sox game to the Cubs game. Disappointing loss, but Prior's going tomorrow. Hope he's ready! For once, I'd like to see the Wood and Prior stay healthy for a full season...together...

Not trying to post on myself...But just remembered on Wednesday ESPN2 at 5:30 Central....Top 5 Reasons You Can't Blame Steve Bartman for the Cubs 2003 Playoff Collapse. That should be interesting. I still hate him and I'll never forgive him....him and Alex Gonzales. We were 5 outs away....God I'm still not over that.

EDIT: It's on right now, too.

Let me get this straight. Alex Gonzales kicks a ground ball, Dusty Baker leaves Mark Prior in so long that he hasnt been right for two years AND the Cubs lost game 7 at home and everyone blames Bartman? Alou might not have even been able to catch it.

Bartman gets exiled from Chicago and Alex Gonzalez skates. Unreal.

By the way tomorrow Prior v. Peavy should be great. Go Padres.

Too bad nobody in Chicago is reading your book. I think Cubs fans need to let Bartman alone, poor guy.

im so sick of hearing crap about bartman. if your getting paid 10 million a year and you have the weakest arm in the majors, you should be able to make a f'ing catch in foul territory. god i hate alou. that play sparked my hatred for alou. sure i liked when he would hit homers but give it a rest. and then the complaining about chip and steve. unbelievable.

Well I think it is quite obvious that Alou couldn't have made the catch because Bartman reached, and touched, the ball before Alou got to it. I'm sorry that you hate him, but it wasn't his fault he didn't catch that ball. I do agree with you about Chip and Steve though. I really miss Steve Stone.

That was the 18-6 Prior was 2003 that we saw today. 92 pitches not bad for a 1st start.
