You could easily make an argument for either. Saying it's one of them and not even close doesn't make sense. This is a great thread though. It's a chicken/egg situation. Except instead of a chicken and an egg it's two GOATs. Without each other they most likely both don't have as much success as they have had.

Agreed. This might come as a surprise to you all since I am a die hard pats fan, but lets keep in mind our defense for ALL championships were key factors in the team's success. Granted, I'm not going to take away from any of the insane drives that TB put together, putting Vinateri in field goal range or slicing the Hawks in half in the 4th quarter. Rather, just making the point that all of this success comes from a good team, not a good player. With that being considered, its Bill who is primarily responsible for this.

There's no telling to what would have happened if Brady wasn't on this team, but I feel pretty confident saying that the Pats have the potential of being almost as successful, solely because of the awesome team and amazing cheater/coach we have

I don't think the Patriots win any super bowls in the past 15 years without Tom Brady. In 01 they were 0-2 when Bledsoe got injured

The whole timeline for the last 16 years would be completely different without 01. They probably don't sign Revis/Welker/Moss, I mean who knows but I just don't see any of it without Brady

obviously won't happen, but just for the storyline how funny would it be if the Patriots go 0-12 when Brady comes back

Or just don't understand football. Tom is the best ever and bill is the best ever. Bill knows how to put Tom in the best situation to succeed and Tom operates that system perfectly. Bill would have a tough time having long term success with a QB like cutler or Sanchez. He would probably stay competitive but 4 rings? Probably not.

What BB turned Brady into, could have been done with anyone. Key word, "could have." We are talking about a 6th round 199 draft pick that was molded into a razor sharp quarterback.

I'm not saying that Brady is a dime a dozen, but everything comes from Bill and it trickles down. Maybe we wouldn't have 4 rings, but I think we would have still been relatively successful throughout the last 15 years. Maybe a couple less SB's/AFC/playoffs, but in comparison to most of the teams in the NFL over the course of the last decade in a half, still one of the "teams to beat"

Just way too many factors to consider. But if I were a betting man I'd still say we would have 2 super bowls if BB had to develop another QB instead of Brady.
