Many police on roads to the Gorge

Note to everybody about the roads to the Gorge -

We drove out from Seattle yesterday, and also drove from Quincy to Ephrata and back today. We saw MANY police cars along the way, several hiding between the east and west directions of the I-90 freeway route near Ellensburg. We also saw many of them on the 28 and 281 roads, to and from Ephrata.

Was stopped 10 miles before Ellensburg going around a corner, doing 84 mph in the 70 zone - agreed was going too fast - but was excited to get there! Nice officer gave me only a warning to slow down. Advice taken.

For those of you possibly driving up from Bend to the Gorge via Highway 97 north, be careful after Shaniko. We have been making the trek for the past 10 years and have gotton tickets 5/10 times. It's hard driving the speed limit when there is just no one around you and sage brush for miles. We also got ticketed on the Silica Road to the venue. They just pulled out of the line of traffic, all traveling the same speed. The cops were pulling people over both in and out of the show. I think it is probably their huge money making weekend for these small towns. Puts a major hit on the wallet and a damper on the weekend.
