I called Wells Fargo today ago. They did say tailgating would be allowed in the Northwest lot however no open flames would be allowed. Also, talking with a local food vendor yesterday, he did say they plan on setting up food trucks in the area.

Personally, we (group of 8 or so) plan on arriving close to noon and doing our own thing in the NW lot. I may sneak in the "official" tailgate to get to the merch tent (which she verified will be available) however I do not want to pay arena beer prices and dance my legs off before the show!

Any and all are free to join us!

A good microbrew is Confluence Brewey. It isn't right downtown but a 5 minute drive if you have some time to kill in the afternoon before the show.

Heading in from Central, IL as well.... very excited. GA floor for us so we were thinking about heading over early to get in line. Any word on that yet?

I'll be checking out the south entrance first. The lobby and box office are there. They don't care if you wait at the stairs inside which is nice on a hot day.

Thanks for the info! See you there. Any idea what time you will be showing up? I've never done GA floor at an arena so not sure how early I should be to get on the rail.

Hard to say, Tulsa I arrived at 5pm and got 2nd row no problem. Just depends. Can't imagine the Iowa crowd to be too die hard. I haven't decided what time I am going.

I have two floor seats for sale for anyone who needs them. I live in Minneapolis and won't be at the show until around 5 or 6 Tuesday but I could overnight them tomorrow if you want to pay the $20 bucks for shipping.

Face + Fees for $140 for both without shipping. PM me and I'll arrange delivery. If you could do paypal before shipping that would be great or cash at the show would work, but I really don't want to get stuck eating them or trying to sell them last second.

Am I correct in saying this is only the band's 6th performance in iowa? 4 at Hilton, principal park and this one?

Excluding Dave and Tim shows, this is the full band's 7th performance. Played at Hairy Mary's (Now El Bait Shop) in 1994

Took this review from the tour central. Always awesome to read.

"This show was actually booked by Randy Hinchliff and Reckless Productions. The production company was started by myself and Clint Buckner back in 1992. We brought The Samples, Big Head Todd, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Freddy Jones, etc to Des Moines multiple times, mostly at Z International. The funny thing was nobody knew DMB at the time and we needed a smaller venue. I believe there were about 25 tix sold and another 25 given away. The sound system sucked, Carter's monitor blew up, and then the police raided the place for underage drinking. I remember grabbing Stefan Lessard because we were both only 20 at the time and sneaking out the back door of the bar. Then we found Boyd and Randy sitting in the van drinkin Budweiser. I remember we were watching the cops haul all these kids out of there and arrest them and I was apologizing to Boyd for the small turnout, etc. Then he turns to me and says "yea man, don't worry about it, next time we come through maybe we'll have a tour bus too..." Classic. Oh and DMB made $450 guaranteed cash that night. I have the contract right here."

Hey all! Coming in from Minneapolis for the show. We are staying at the holiday inn at 1050 6th ave by the highway. First time in Des Moines! It says the arena is a half of a mile away. Does anyone know if it's an easy walk from the hotel to the arena? Not sure how the area is with the highway there and everything. Also, does anyone know of good bars/restaurants in that area? Thank you!!

It is definitely walkable. Maybe 1/2 mile. Many bridges have pedestrian walkways. As far as bars or restaurants, I would recommend Court Avenue. Its about 3 blocks south of the arena. Tons a food and drink choices on Court Ave!

Thought I would post again just in case, but if anyone has good reserved seats and are wanting to trade for the floor let me know. My wife isn't 100% sure she wants to be without seats. Just thought I'd throw it out there, we'll obviously use the floor tickets if no one is interested.
