I haven't been to a DMB show at Riverbend since 2003, but I didn't tailgate that night. But I did see Tom Petty there in 2010. We set out some lawn chairs, and started beers. Security comes up and says "quickly finish your beers and get inside, no tailgating". The guy wasn't a huge dick about it, just matter of fact. We shrugged, chugged and went inside and bought a $8 beer.

That could've just been for that particular show, or an overall policy. Based on that night, I think they don't allow tailgating.

Parking is relatively easy getting in. As with most venues, getting out is a real pain in the ass. I tend to start walking to the car about halfway through the last song of the encore. You can clearly hear it as you walk, and you'll save yourself an hour in the parking lot.

As for tailgating, sadly, it sucks. Rent a cops will hassle you and basically no one tailgates. Best bet is to head to the race track next door and drink at the bar there. Cheap beer, and some other DMB fans will be there.

Those seats are really bad. As someone else said, like looking at a wall. I would definitely try to sell those and find better seats. Honestly, you might as well be in the lawn at that point.

If you park at the venue parking lot, like everyone said, you might be able to sneak a beer in before they tell you to start walking. A couple years ago, we parked on down the road. There was some gravel overflow lots past the venue I think where people were tailgating. I dont know if that still exists.

Thanks for the advice. That's what i'll do. Been wanting to check out Belterra anyway.

Tailgating here can be odd and based on the show. When Jimmy Buffet shows up people pop up the inflatable pool and fill it with margaritas and swim and drink all day. Other shows you get forced in, I think it depends on the type of crowd expected. With the show being a Friday night it will probably sell out in the long run.

There is music festival (bunburry) starting Friday night in downtown Cincinnati as well so that could take some of the crowd. Parking is main venue and across the street in the gravelots. Watch trying to park at the casino and not going in to drop a few bucks before the show.

Hey folks. I'll be attending Riverbend with a group this year and we're contemplating getting a cab or going the Uber route. In past venues I've been to (namely, Alpine), it's been virtually impossible to get a driver without paying the driver to sit in the lot for the entire show. Even if inconvenient, is it possible to get dropped off/picked up at Riverbend? Thanks!

Yes! Well I got my tickets in 600 level, however, I also have PIT and those are of course will called!

ISO single, would also consider a pair. Anyone have any insight on how view is from 800DD. I know it's center but is it basically like lawn bc of how far back or quite a bit better. First time, random trip to venue.

Seems to be a popular add! Nice warm up show with it being on a Friday and within 4-5 hours of basically anywhere in the Midwest. I was wondering the same as you so I read through last years forums. Seems the racetrack/Casino is the place to be before the show.

My buddy and I are going to hit the Reds game te next day. Coming from Michigan. Anyone have insight on good hotels or locations to stay for the show and ballgame that are not south of the city? Would like to stay north since that is where we came from.

For hotels it can be pretty lean near the Riverbend. There are a few up off 125/Beechmont AVE. You can then take back roads down the hill to 52 and sneak in the back way. There is a new hotel off Edwards road off 71 if your coming from the north. Will take 20 minutes or so to get to Riverbend from there.

Also off 275 Milford Parkway I think there is a hotel. Also about 15 minutes away. The hotels on 125 can be a little on the the uh, strange side. Not a bad area but the hotels are not looked at as the best.

So I might be adding this show for this summer. A good friend of mine who lives in Indy is skipping Deer Creek to go to my wedding, so we might be going to this show together instead. Waiting on the instant ticketing for Series B before I make up my mind for good.

700 OO is ok... It's far back but it beats the lawn. Also instant ticket series A had riverbend tickets not B... which sold out immediately.
