when taking everything into account, Scranton is still the best show of the tour. it was great songs all night and was the 3rd longest show ever. other shows, like Camden N2 had great songs all night, but the extra 20-30 minutes is what really puts Scranton over the top.

id say its a top 3 show of the tour, based on setlist.

In terms of performance, I think its one of the best. Easily could be and should be a live trax release. Song for song and minute for minute, this goes up against any show this summer.

    Awesome things about the show:

3rd longest show in DMB history.
The instrumental intro to OSW returns full band after 7 years (which was played 2 times for the whole tour I think, this being the debut)
Insane Stone-> Warehouse -> Grace is gone to kick off the show.
Last Cry Freedom of the tour (only 5), paired up with Tripping billies midset (one of the best combos of the tour)
Tour debut of Rapunzel super late in the set
    Busted fuckin Stuff
I'm not one to jump on the 'best performance ever!!!' train, but I can get bored during LITHOG and 41, but this show was intense performance wise. Idk if tapes even do it justice.

    etc etc.

Check out the setlists each year - the band always gives this place something special. This year, we got something unforgettable.

You're forgetting the improv I like to refer to as "Anyone Seen the Dog?"

Unfortunately, this venue lacks the "prestige" of a WPB, Shoreline, SPAC/Alpine, and the like, but performance-wise, setlist-wise, and energy-wise, this show is TOP-NOTCH. It deserves a release. Hands down.

    Bump.

    Because, why not?

Lord knows the Citi Field release is just 3-days late version of this masterpiece.

Sorry, Scranton, but having been to this show and MSG N2, the latter likely takes the cake.

If I was there I'd likely say the same thing...the sound of the crowd gave me chills.

However, I think I'll prefer LISTENING to Scranton more, if for no other reason than I just keep scratching my throat every time I hear Dave's voice. Also, save for Crush and LS I like the setlist more (just personal preference.)

It's obvious that what happened IN the Garden was much more powerful than any other show this year, but in my CD player so far I still like this show a little better.

MSG is for sure going to be a legendary show. Because of Dave's voice I'm sure they'll never release it...
It's going to be like Woodstock. There were 100k people there, and 1 million who say they were there.

I don't care if they ever release Scranton show or not, because the tape mix is so insanely good it doesn't need it anyway (plus they'd probably cut the barking dog improv).

Kudos to you folks who were there, I had a couple friends who went, said it was a lifechanging event.

    from http://cmcondon.blogspot.com

Did you go to a Dave Matthews Band show this year? Maybe it was more then one? Well I would love to hear from you!

The idea is to put together a fan book, where every show of 2010 is covered. 200-750 words (not a strict limit, just so we can fit all the accounts in the book) about your experience. Include what you did for tailgating, or post show if you want. Let us know why the show was special to you, or maybe why it fell a little short. Funny things that happened to you, people you met, your favorite song, the biggest surprise.. etc. If you have pictures with yourself in there, or just great shots of the band, feel free to include it.

    The format idea:

The chapters will be each show. The chapter will start with the show name, a picture of the venue or the band playing at the venue and a setlist. Following that will be the fan accounts and a page or three of pictures from each show.
Include your age if you would like to show the eclectic crowd DMB has. Include the amount of shows you have been to, and what show number that particular account is referring to.

If we can get this going, my goal is to get every show of 2010, bind it and send it to anybody who sent me their stories and then start spreading the word that it exist. Maybe someday it will reach the band. Thanks.

Just listened to this show- first show I've listened to of 2010. Great show, lot of highlights, but So Damn Lucky is almost painful to listen to with all the off key wailing.

also so pumped. I was there... I love coming back to this thread and re-reading the part where people were posting during the show as the songs were being played. Just reading people's minds being blown, it's so awesome. It reminds me how I felt being there, being mind-blown, stunned, brought to tears, all of it. So so good. Love this band. And it's fans.
