Re: Atlanta Braves thread.

Woulda bet good money we'd of lost last night.. can't believe we're keeping this streak going.. gonna be a very telling road trip. If we can just have a winning records on the trip we'll be sitting good. Especially considering we've got Tampa Bay coming to town when we get back.

OK here is the real one... tough blown save last night, but Phillys and Mets unable to make up any ground.

Love that ass clown in Philly saying we're nothing to worry about, thats pretty dumb when you're 6 back.

good bounce back today. Didn't get to watch the game (at work) but I followed it on ESPN. Shoulda been a sweep but gotta be happy with a series win over a good ball club. I still think the phillies can put together a run, but I feel that the mets are done. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Marlins come around. I wanted to bet on the Marlins winning the wildcard but the gambling site I use didn't have a wildcard option.

Another series win. Philly will certainly make a run, and we're bound to have a few game losing streak, but the key is to have enough padding heading into those last couple of weeks. Thankfully we are loaded with home games.

Prediction for the Series: Braves vs Yankees

This time...........BRAVES WIN, and atone for years of heartache.

I would much rather play the Yankees than the White Sox, this year.

I'm a White Sox fan but I quite like the Braves. I picked a Braves/Twins World Series during Spring Training, but would obviously love to be wrong about the Twins half. Didn't the Braves have like a 10 game losing streak at some point early on too?

I just love the Braves pitching staff. I'm a huge fan of Jurrjens and now that he's healthy, plus the emergence of Medlen, I think you guys have a ridiculous rotation. I don't know if it's better than San Francisco's, but it's certainly a close 2nd.

I was looking for the Atlanta Braves on TBS theme music from 1991-1995 on YouTube today. Couldn't find it. Anyone know where that may be available?

Man, pitching been letting us down these past few losses. Our bats have stayed hot but the relievers/closers lost it. I mightve missed some of the commentary at the end tonight, but did we not have anyone else in the bullpen while Wagner was struggling and coming undone

Keep Cabrera in centerfield. He's about 10,000x better than McLouth. Pirates McLouth, no. Braves McLouth, yes. And McLouth's arm is for shit. I am sick and tired of him conceding all those runs. THROW THE DAMNED BALL. Ship him and KK to the Royals, or something.

Agree 100%. Nate picks up the ball and watches the runner advance before he even considers a throw.

That being said, WE CANT BE STOPPED BITCHEZ!

We only had the one run lead... situations forced the bases loaded. It wasn't really a situation where we could of/should of brought anyone else in. You have to give you closer to benefit of the doubt. Its two blown saves in a row, which sucks, but need to quickly right the ship.

And why is Chavez still here? Kimbrell would be the obvious choice, but I guess that's just too easy. If anything else, the only thing that can fuck the Braves, is (are) the Braves.

Huge grand salami from McCann after Wags blows the save! Huge. Come on Philly, suck it up tonight and give us some cushion.

Big win for using our Sunday lineup with all of our injuries.

Hanson threw a hell of a game. Houston got so lucky to even tie it in the 9th. Pence had no idea what Wagner was throwing out there, got some dribbler bullshit. Good win with the crappy lineup out there today!

Our "crappy"/back-up lineup is better than most clubs primary line-ups. (I know you didn't mean anything by it, just saying...)

    Prado comes back next week.

I don't think Chipper will be out more than 2-3 weeks (which could have been alot worse)

The Mac Attack is on in full-force.

    Infante. Infante. Infante.

And all of this despite Pendleton. Just think if we had a real hitting coach.

    Go Dodgers.

Haha, yeah I just meant its pretty good we got a win on the road with 4 of our regulars out of the lineup. Still worried about our offense to produce enough to win in October. Glaus sucks, our outfield sucks beside Hayward. Gonzalez has way too many errors so far at SS and his bat hasn't been great, more power than Escobar but I'm not sure it's enough, his OBP isn't stellar, too many strikeouts. Good to see McCann playing like he should have been all year.

Braves fans are gonna get a real wakeup call if Medlen needs Tommy John and Chipper is done for the year/career. It'll be tough for us to make the playoffs or do anything in them with those two gone.

I love huddy right now but I think he has to come back to earth a little bit with his lack of strikeouts. Jurrjens will pitch well, Hanson will pitch well, Huddy will regress a bit I'm guessing, Lowe sucks, and Minor/Kawakami is decent for the 5th spot for the run.

I'm just banking on the expanded lineups..

I am hoping we're going to put Glaus on the 15 day DL in the middle of the month call up Freddie Freeman (one of the top prospects in baseball, and raking in AAA) and then hold on to him when the lineups expand in Sept. Medlen is done, but I am hoping Chipper comes back as Brooks really isn't an everyday 3rd basemen.

Just keep winning the series, the name of the game.

From what I've read Freeman's plate discipline is not close to MLB ready. He was real bad last year, matured more this year but still too much of a free swinger. I'm worried if we try to make him too big of a contributor early, he'll turn into Frenchy where he'll be real good early but once people get the book on him he'll be toast.

    Teehee

But yeah this sucks. I wonder if the injury/surgery will affirm his decision to call it quits or make him wanna come back for a complete season (doubtful). He can't play for a different manager though!

I'm having visions of Georgia football 2008, ranked first, all the hype, then all the injuries

It totally sucks because Chip was getting hot, but we'll be ok.

Prado at 3rd (he'll be back in 4 days). Infante at 2nd.

And if Troy never gets back on track, you move Prado to 1st, and let Connie play 3rd.

Problem with those moves is we don't have power anymore. Conrad is not an everyday player with power. We'll have to go into the open market to find someone with power.
