It's about Vlade Divac and Drazen Petrovic during their careers and how the two were tied together playing with their national team in Yugoslovia. It's an extremely interesting story that any basketball fan should watch. It's not just about basketball either, kind of history-driven too. I won't ruin it for everyone, but the last 20 or so minutes will produce tears. Either that or me and the rest of the staff are huge fags

I really like the one about Paul Westhead. I actually coach basketball at the High School where he was first a head coach and taught English. I also coached Hank Gathers' son at that same high school. An amazing coincidence that Aaron ended up at the school that his dad's coach started at.

Once Brothers, Terry Fox, 4 Days in October (as a Yankee fan, I had to mute/turn away when they played the call when the Sox won the series though) Run Ricky Run were all great.

Tonight's was the first of this series that I've watched and it was really good and very sad to see what happened. I just checked on Amazon and they have a 30 on 30 set coming out in December, I am definitely getting it. Is there a place i can watch the others on line?

That was over a year's worth of work put into that film, I'm extremely happy with the product regardless of how big or small my role was. This was my second time seeing it and it was just as sad. I had to pull the old "oh my eye itches" at the end so my girlfriend wouldn't see me watering up. Definitely one of my favorites, all bias aside.

It was a sports story as well as a history lesson. It was very well done.

That was the best 30 for 30, tonight. I got completely sucked in, even though I missed the first 20 minutes (it was 90 minutes). Extremely powerful story, very well produced.

I agree. I wasn't really paying attention for the first few minutes but as soon as I gave it my full attention it completely grabbed me. Very well done all around.

I learned so much about the history of the wars in Yugoslavia just by working on this. Some of the footage we received was so disturbing. It really put a lot of things in perspective, especially since at the time we started production on this the way in Iraq was going strong.

For me this was great too because I was either not alive, or barely alive for most of it. I didn't even know who Drazen was before I watched it.

I'm the exact opposite. I loved it so much because my first sports memory is the 1992 Olympics and more specifically the game between the Dream Team and Croatia. I'll always have a soft spot for that period in time. My favorite era of my favorite sport.

I'm so convinced just by watching so much Drazen footage that we were robbed of one of the best players to ever touch the court. He would have been the first international SUPERSTAR in NBA history. His shot was absolutely ridiculous, he was a ball hawk, he had speed, he had vision. Such a shame.

You've got to be fucking kidding me. The only 30 for 30 I was looking forward to (though I've enjoyed some of the others) was "Steve Bartman: Catching Hell". Had my fucking DVR set for this next Tuesday, Oct. 26, and now they aren't going to air it?? Airing "Fernando Nation" instead?? Give me a fucking break.

Apparently they will probably never air this one along with 2 others that are also already finished. Fucking bullshit. Another reason I really can't stand ESPN (though I watch anyway )

I'll never forget the moment i found out Drazen died. This was before the internet obviously. It was on the back page of a newspaper. The moment i read the headline it seemed like everything just stopped and i'll never forget that moment for as long as i live. That was a great documentary and it brought everything back for me.

The U was awesome, being a Canes homer. it was pure football dominance.

but, my favorite is the one about the Baltimore Colts marching band. as a sports fan, i couldn't watch such devotion and perseverance without getting emotional. and it has a happy ending when the Ravens come to town.

Just watched Fernando Nation and it was great. I don't think it's possible for someone like Fernando to come along and take the country by storm like Fernando did back in the day.

Anyone want to rank in order the best to worst of the 30 for 30 specials? I know Steve Nash worked on one about a runner with one leg.

Also, off topic but kinda on topic as it's ESPN but man that John Buccigrass is a tool. Neil Everett too.
