Making the trip to Blossom for the first time ever this year... Subscribed to the thread. Looking for good ideas during the day for hanging out, getting good food and drinks and making the most of the trip!

    This.

Plus it is easy to go in the "back way" from the Winking Lizard.

Another couple of first timers for Blossom, here! Looking forward to it... have heard a lot of good things!

What's the story with lodging and transportation? Any shuttles run or is Uber an option in the area for people that don't want to drive?

    thanks!

Thinking of hitting this one up for the first time. I have a reservation at the courtyard Arkon Stow. It appears to be a 4.5 mile straight shot to the venue. For those that have been before, does that stretch of road tend to have many checkpoints before or after a show?

Probably not, but I know you're not planning on driving under the influence, so...

Last one was in 2007 the week before I moved out of state. I believe we narrowly evaded some tornadoes that evening, and the show was delayed for about an hour or so.

Jiffy Lube Live has been my home venue the last 5 years. I miss Pine Knob. If they ever play a weekend show there, I will definitely come back, but it seems to always be mid-week.

What are we going to if the Wings somehow make it to the ECF and have a game on May 21st?

Not gonna hold my breath on that one. Even if they do, I'd think it would early in the series so i'd be ok with it. Plus with smartphones and DVR's, not as bad as it used to be.

I've read horror stories about getting out of the parking lot at this venue. Can someone who has been here a few times shed some light. Such as, is it worth it to get preferred parking(it definitely is at Bristow)? I've heard that people get 4 wheel drive vehicles stuck in the lot?

Also, the long walk. Is that someone just complaining to complain or is like a one-mile hike? Lastly, the traffic leaving the venue, does it go both directions or do they force you to go one way out? If so, do they have you going towards Stow?

I know that is a lot of questions, but for someone who maybe has been a lot, probably can be answered rather quickly.

    Thanks in advance!

Can't tell you about the preferred parking, wondering that myself because I can answer the rest. Long walk? If you are way back on the grass? Yeah long fucking walk. Could you get stuck? Probably if it's been raining and it's May so.... Once you get to the exit, the last time I went there (2006 was my 3rd straight and last year there) you could go either way.

Thanks for all of the info. I'm envisioning this chaotic scene of people spinning mud and falling all around. HAHA. I have a Titan, so I'll take my chances I suppose. I'll see if anyone else comments as to preferred parking advantages for this venue and if exiting has changed any recently.

Getting out of the grass lots can suck! The only sure fire ways I have experienced to avoid this mess are: 1. leave early; 2. Run as fast as you can to your car; or, 3. Get extremely lucky and get a spot that is conveniently located near the exit/exit path. If you park in the grass lot, back into your spot if there is a dead end at the spot (cars or fencing), having to back out of the spot will cost you time. If it rains heavily all bets are off...you very well could get stuck. If you have a couple people with you, you can usually just have the passengers push the car a few times and get out without needing a tow.

The walk isn't too bad in my opinion, i actually enjoy walking through blossom, it's a very pretty venue.

My wife is pregnant this year, so I am getting a parking pass just in case she wants to come along, i don't want her walking too far (we will probably also leave during the last encore songs this year, to avoid the mess on the bridge walking out). This will be the first time I have ever paid to park at Blossom.

Haha, this makes the parking sound terrible. I think it's bad but leave during the encore or buy a pass if waiting is not your thing. If you are a patient person, save yourself the money.

2007 the grass lots were a disaster. It rained for probably 30 straight hours before the show. I pushed probably 8 cars out of the mud and I was covered head to toe in mud.

    Preferred is worth it.

a few time that I've been, I have never ended up in the grass. However we leave quickly at the end and it seems to move OK. The one time I went with a friend were we parked in handicapped, we pulled out chairs and waiting for the lot to empty because he couldn't get out quickly. I didn't feel like we waited too long but it was a nice dry day.

2007 is exactly what i was thinking back to! Was muddy and completely soaked, but I had a great time though!

2007 was my first concert and I remember it being about 60 degrees and drizzling. It was priceless though watching the amount of people bite it on the lawn.

Buy the preferred parking pass. I won't go to Blossom without one.

I don't think taxi is a good option for Blossom. I think you could probably take one there if you get there early, but i don't think you'd be so lucky getting back afterwards.

Assuming I get one, I remember like 3 lanes on the way in. Is there a certain lane you need to be in or what?

The lanes to the far right are the VIP/Paid parking lanes.
