Re: **The Official Gamers Thread**

I enjoyed city and asylum more than AK. I actually haven't even finished AK because the story started to feel like a chore. The back and forth between the batmobile became annoying and a downside imo.

I feel like they did overdo the Batmobile just a tad, especially when it came to fighting all the drones. There were probably two too many "big" battles with the tanks, which did get a little repetitive. The payoff at the end of the story is well worth it, though. Are you a comics/Batman fan? I feel like that definitely enhanced my enjoyment of the story and these games overall, so if you're not totally into comics or the Batman mythos then I can see how it might not be as fun, or how someone could get bored.

Did anyone check out the new Zelda game footage from E3? It's called "Breath of the Wild" and looks pretty awesome to me. Possibly the best thing I've seen is Link using his shield as a snowboard similar to Legolas. Man, I can't wait for this!

I stopped being interested in Zelda. Delay, delay, delay. Nintendo went a whole generation without a legit Zelda game. It's pretty embarrassing.

Yeah, I'm not happy about that. It doesn't mean that the new game won't be amazing though.

But this new version of this game is not nearly as fun. I enjoyed burning building down and stuff on the old game. I don't even see that option anymore.

Also you can't simulate the game faster anymore. The game is called sim city and no sim option is available

it sounds like you're playing a bad mobile port of Sim City, which the last good version of came out like 12 years ago

The computer game I have is sim city 4. It doesn't work on my computer because the operating system is too new

Have you tried running SC4 in compatibility mode? I can still run it on Windows 10. I've been a longtime city builder player. Right now, Cities Skylines is the absolute best game on the market, and it greatly exceeds the quality of the newest SimCity (2013). The SimCity franchise is effectively over, thanks to Electronic Arts and their corporate rape.

    My top ten city builders:

    1: Cities Skylines
    2. SimCity 4 (a close second)
    3. Pharaoh
    4. SimCity 2000
    4. Caesar III
    5. Caesar II
    6. SimCity
    7. SimCity 3000
    8. Immortal Cities: Children of the Nile
    9. Tropico 5
    10. Caesar I

    Honorable Mentions:

    Banished
    Tropico 1-4
    Anno 2070
    Cities XL

Xcom 2 came out on XBox and PS4 a few weeks ago. Has anyone picked it up? I've never played online before but if there was someone that had it i'd totally love to give it a try with them.

Anyone have any luck getting a Nintendo NES Classic today? I waited in line at Target this morning, but they sold out a few people in front of me.

I guess I'll be trying Amazon in 5 hours, but I'm sure that'll be a similar clusterfuck.

I was able to pick up an X-bone with Amazon points. I mostly got it to use as a media center, but it came with my choice of 3 games, so I said screw it and picked one to try. I picked Tomb Raider, as it's a title I recognized, but it kinda sucks.

I haven't really been much of a gamer since the Ps2 days, so what's a must have game on X-bone?

Is Skyrim on Xbox? Only played it on PS3 but if you even kinda like adventure games, it's the greatest game ever created, as far as I'm concerned.

Just make sure you don't plan on having a life if you start it. It's a solid 300 hours of gameplay at least.

I like adventure, I guess, but not ones where it's like "You need to do this, press X to do it. It's done." Tomb Raider is a little too much of that. I mean, I played it for like 4 hours yesterday, so it was at least somewhat entertaining, but I'm already kinda ready to move on to something else.

I'm really tripping out at how great it looks though. Like I said, haven't really gamed since the polygon days so some of this new stuff is pretty impressive to me.

    Didn't like Tomb Raider?

Not sure what games you enjoy.

    Gears of War is good
    Battlefield 1 is amazing
Since you were talking about Skyrim/adventure games - Witcher is amazing. Fallout is hours of fun.
Assassins Creed is always fun (Black Flag or AC III)

Skyrim is definitely not like that. I mean, there's a couple instances where you have to unlock something a certain way but that's such a small part of the gameplay it's almost not worth mentioning. It's more or less going wherever the hell you want, fighting people, doing quests that are themselves fairly open-ended besides the specific goal, and not to mention you can have a ton of quests going on at once. So if you talk to some person and you don't want to do that now, you don't have to. Go talk to someone else and do a different quest.

Finally found a Switch - got one on Prime Day.

So far I just have Mario Kart, but I'm enjoying it!

Bummed about no Virtual Console though, that's weird. Would love to have old SNES games to take with me on trips
