In fact, let me ask the crowd something I'm curious about, if you ever do this as well. because you have your list of different shows you intend to watch, and/or recently old movies, and some things have been on that list for awhile, like several MONTHS. But then you'll have times where you become aware of something practically out of nowhere, and you wind up watching 6 episodes of it right off the bat. like for no rhyme or reason it totally leap frogs over a bunch of other things you intend to try? (btw I'm not necessarily talking about like a literal Netflix queue, well if they even do that anymore, but just your own personal list you keep in your head)
I keep an up-to-date list of all television shows I've ever watched as well as ones I plan to watch on a note on my iPhone (and I separate them out by drama, comedy, etc). I use "bold" text on shows that I've marked as "watched" but that have new episodes so I know what I need to catch up on. It's all pretty detailed for me

You're the Worst is fantastic, however, Season 2 was a big step back. Nice to see that it has recovered for Season 3.

This made me think about an app I use that helps me keep track of new episodes coming out. It's called Next Episode and there's no way I could remember what shows I need to catch up on without it.

I caught up with Atlanta. The episode where they do and episode of Montigue is such an unbelievable block of 30 minutes. Just brilliant.

Gave up after the awful pilot. I just have too much to watch and that wasn't even close to making the cut.

We just started watching Black Mirror on season three. This first episode is depressing.

Absolutely. It's very, very good. Its an anthology series, so every episode is different. I haven't seen the first two seasons, but will definitely be checking them out.

Just finished season 2 of You're The Worst and I think it's my favorite sitcom that's running right now. The show is seriously so good at making you feel every single emotion, and presenting situations that we've all been through before. So relatable. Brilliant writing, acting and directing too.

I just really disagree with the notion that S2 was a step back. It was a change of direction, for sure, but the writing was still so damn good. It got real dark at times, but was still really funny. I think it was a step forward.
I haven't seen any of S3 yet, but I hope they don't regress all the way back to the same thing they were doing S1. THAT would be a step back. I'd rather they keep moving forward and taking the show to different places.

They're handling Edgar's PTSD is S3 so much better than they handled Gretchen's depression in S2.

I haven't seen any of S3 either (planning to start this week), but I agree with you about S2. Thought it was still very, very good. Like you said, they explore some very dark themes and there were so many moments that were just brutally emotional. Aya Cash deserves a damn Emmy for her performances.

Granted, there were a few episodes here and there where I thought it fell pretty flat (Jimmy's parents coming to town was pretty bad), but still thought it was a very solid season. They did a great job of developing some of the characters.

The sugar daddy husband in the last episode of Atlanta brought so much cringe. In the good way though - they nailed that rich white guilt/obliviousness to a tee. I felt like I was in the room with Ern with how uncomfortable I was watching that unfold.

    question for the regs--

I still have not gotten around to even seeing that pilot episode of This Is Us. I've at least successfully stayed away from hearing what the big interesting twist is. however I see now it's 5 episodes deep into the season. does the quality of those 5 episodes feel worthy of still bothering with it all? because I'm sure we all know of a show with a killer pilot but that fizzled out pretty quickly after that, and just checking if I shouldn't waste my time...

Such a great show, highly recommended to those who haven't seen it. Careful though, it's haunting. Rewatched Seasons 1 and 2 recently, was not disappointed. Season 3 was really good as well, especially the last ep.

btw it's worth noting, you really should go into the entirety of Black Mirror knowing as little as possible about everything. That trailer they put out like 6 weeks ago, since I knew it was this close anyway I totally skipped it. But I mean I just finished watching the 4th episode, San Junipero, and I mean I recommend literally not even reading netflix's little episode description about it. The ONLY thing I had to go on all this time was that one still they put online months ago of the two stars. True, I could tell something wasn't quite right after just a couple of scenes, but it still seems far better to have figured that all out on my own as I went.
