Damn I'm 4 songs into the stream. Can't wait to get to this song. However, the first 4 have been fantastic.

The only parts that might be even considered a "direct lift" from Pink Floyd are the chord structure (which is public domain for any song, since chord progressions are reused all the time) and the "bending" in the guitar line (again, I don't think you can copyright an effect) the actual melodic lines in each song are quite different in every instrument. The songs are similar, but not in any way that would require listing Waters as a writer (or that could lead to a lawsuit)

I have nothing against this but I do love how Dave delivers these lyrics.

Love every section of the song. The chorus is one of the best Dave has done.

It would actually make me feel better if they credited Waters with the "Breathe" homage in the beginning of the outro, even if they were legally allowed to record it. I'm sure they played it safe since it was advertised as having a Pink Floyd vibe, but that 10 second section is almost exactly the same. Nonetheless, I love the outro. It's Jeff and Boyd's work that really gives it the Pink Floyd vibe with their playful riffs over the trippy guitar and bassline (ala Meddle/Animals). I'd love to see an encore of:

    E1: Pigs on the Wing
    Drunken Soldier>Breathe

I kind of wish they would have developed the intro into it's own song. That could have been really cool.

I'd rank it their 4th best closer based on first impressions. That's no slight against DS, it's just that Bartender, Spoon, and 34 are masterpieces.

Putting Pink Floyd aside for a moment, that groove on the end is just plain raunchy, nasty, pure sex.

Even though I must have watched the promo video about 100 times from June until now, the intro (after the little "commercial") still gave me raging goosebumps the first time I heard it. Amazing.

I love the song and the album as a whole. I think this would be awesome to pull out for the E1 spot in a show.

Also, I 100% thought Pink Floyd during the second half. It sounds a lot like Breathe and "On The Run" the next song on Dark Side of the Moon also has the running footsteps in it like you hear in the beginning of the song. I don't think it's a bad thing at all, just very similar.
