and that is probably the only show of the tour that was recorded. the guy that recorded that filmed the screens at SPAC a few times. i don't know how many shows he did, but CCP uses his videos for a few shows, so i would imagine that anything that the guy recorded has been given to CCP.

Notice I said "with this (CCP) channel", Adam. I know because mine were the first used (at Hartford). For OneEyedWilly, they are all full shows, and from all different years (as we both know).

I was merely confirming the beginnings of CCP, from a timeline standpoint.

Keep trying to give this song a chance. Listened to this version several times and I'm not getting it. No offense. The song seems like it over emphasizes the creation of a unique song structure which creates somewhat of a chaotic journey through the song coupled with incoherent yelling during some of the more "powerful" portions of the song.. And at times it looks like roi is starring at dave as to say, "done screaming yet? Are we moving to the next part?" The main riff definitely has promise but it seems like the age old issue of having a great idea, not being able to fully put it together, but lets put it out there anyhow and see if it sticks. Which, according to it's lack of official release, band feels the same maybe. Yes, there are several great songs which haven't been released but I would venture to say this one hasn't been released because it lacks quality. And I also know the meaning behind the song is powerful, heartfelt etc.. But can someone fill me in on all the sometimes very enthusiastic interest here?

I agree. I loved this song when it first made its debut in 2006 in Pittsburgh. I think that first version was one of the best, really liked the lyrics of that one and it was shorter and not as drawn out by just playing the same parts over and again mixed with dave whaling every once in awhile. Still think this song has great potential, but not if they continue in the direction they have been going with it.

the love for shotgun stems from its first tour and the potential everybody saw in it. after what come out from SU, shotgun gave us hope that songs of quality circa BTCS days could still happen. it was obvious in 2006 that it was a work in progress and it began evolving as the tour went on. 6.23.06 was the first one that had the intro and we could see the song becoming what we thought it could become. that version had very loose lyrics, but instead of just wailing away to fill the space, dave let the music breathe.

once 2007 rolled around, the song had more set lyrics/parts and it became what we have today, which is a good song that wasn't developed properly. to me, this is one of the few songs dave has written that needed less lyrics than it has. listen to 6.23.06. it has like 2 verses and the rest is just music.

I like them all too. I don't actually see what's so great about the debut performance. It didn't really go anywhere, and after reading the lyrics I don't see what's so great about those either. It was mostly jibberish.

I haven't listened for awhile, but I'm not sure what really changed so much about the song from 2006 to 2013. I know Butch is gone and replace him with Tim, but other than some more structure I'm not sure how it's digressed. I'd say I prefer the newer versions. The one on the Away From the World DVD is fantastic.

All that being said, I think Shotgun is one of the most overrated songs in the catalog.

Watching Alpine now and wow...I may have to hit Alpine instead of the Gorge. Place looks and sounds like it's energy is off the charts bonkers.

This show is awesome. So great to have Boyd back in the mix. He's been so out of it that I almost forgot the kind of energy he can bring to the stage. Not going to lie...even the jam at the end of Be Yourself was awesome.
