I love this song. Live Trax 6 is probably the best version.

I couldn't agree more. Fonz sounded amazing. Damn, do I miss Roi.

    The best outro is 06.15.05.

Hopefully some day the WH will throw it on a WH8 for us. The tape has never been released because of glitches...DURING THIS SONG!

This night absolutely killed the other versions I've heard and I hit up 9 shows in 2005, one of those moments they just went nuts.

Does anyone know the answer to this question?

I know before playing it solo at one of the Europe 2006 shows (London maybe) he mentioned it being about how he wanted Americans/others to not lose sight of the "American Dream" or something along those lines. So, I'm guessing it's "Stay American, baby."

Either way, not the greatest lyrics, but I like it occasionally.

American comma Baby. I enjoy this song (studio). Stefan's bass line is sweet and Roi's sax lines are too.

The Letterman performance is great. Love how loud Stefan is in the mix.

I always dug the version from that Australian Late Night show. Couldn't find it on YouTube, but it's a great version and Carter is playing a smaller kit. I've always been a fan of this song. It doesn't sound great with the new lineup though. The version from SPAC last year was OK, but I think that was a song Butch filled out quite nicely.

Considering the song is "American Baby," it's the latter.

8.13.05 is the daye believe. Solid tempo. Carter even yells into the mic, "Hey!" in approval towards the end of the first chorus. Also dig the version they did on Letterman in 05 with Ray Romano's voice at the end, "They can jam!!"
