Re: Favorite beer of choice?

75 minute is good, nothing great but a good beer.

Had DFH Higher Math earlier today. A bit sweet and probably ages phenomenally. I enjoyed it thought. Another great beer by them when they really amp up the ABV.

I don't think they do Gumballhead in bombers, but I have an Apocalypse Cow bomber in my fridge that was 11.99. I've seen them as expensive as 19.99 for the rarer stuff.

There was a small run of Gumballhead, and then Zombie Dust bombers to test out a new bottling line. I think everything is back to normal formats now though.

Just saw that on the last page. Yeah, I had never heard of that. Seemed odd, but that makes sense.

Regular customer that comes into the store I work at went to Maine and Vermont last weekend and brought me what is, thus far in my young craft beer life, the best beer haul I've ever gotten. Three cans of Heady, a Sip of Sunshine, Be Hoppy by Wormtown, and Calcutta Cutter by Rising Tide. Also picked up two BCBS, the first I'll ever have. Bummed I can't get the coffee one though.

Checking out black market prices on Bourbon County...some pretty ridiculous prices out there. $200+ for rare, $50+ for Rye/Coffee...

Hit up a few places in Mass this morning. Didn't find any variants. Reg is everywhere though and in decent amounts. Could have bought way more than the 10 bottles I did. All at $9.99.

Some of that will normalize out after the initial demand. The ludicrous trades always go down early on.

No way I can spend crazy money on beer/liquor. There are just some things I resigned myself to the fact I'll never have and I'm okay with that. There are a lot of great affordable beers out there.

Yeah I don't get that either. Unless I have an equally rare beer that I can trade to bring it close to $4$ I wouldn't do it.

Indy peeps, the Fresh Thyme at Castleton still has 6 bottles of BCBS regular on the shelf. Just picked up 4 bottles for myself.

MBB Update: Will be shipping out today. Got a little busier than anticipated on black friday so didn't get a chance to pack the box until this morning. I've sent beer to this state before...and likely have sent to this person before....but then again I'm pretty sure I've sent beer to most people on the list.

Maumee Bay released a Bourbon Barrel Total Eclipse Breakfast Stout http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1475/113279/
$7 for a 12oz bottle, so a little pricey. I picked up 3 bottles. Will try one soon. I'm hoping it's 75% as good as BCBCS. I do love the regular Eclipse Breakfast Stout, so I have high hopes. Also picked up

-2 avery sours...the tequila barrel+salt+lime and the cherry bourbon barrel
-2 Jackie O's BBL Brick Kiln Barley wine
-Brekenridge Rum Barrel Imperial Vanilla Porter
-Single Goose Island Fulton Street Blend - Golden Ale with Coffee

The latter 2 I don't have high hopes for, but bought on recommendation from a dude at my bottle shop.

I'm pretty price in-sensitive, but the prices are just ridiculous. I could probably get first growth Bordeaux for about the same price per ounce as the rare.

Wegmans finally has them, but they're keeping it under lock and key so people don't put them in the $6.99 build your own six pack cases... at $9.99/bottle I couldn't justify more then two.

I'm going to enjoy one, and age one.

"Beer" is too broad...so many different types and flavors. What beers have you had that you didn't like? Any that you did? This will help in making recommendations.

I've had sips of most types and didn't find anything I could tolerate.

The only ones I've sipped and not totally been discussed by are Jade and Seeing Double, both IPAs from Foothills brewing in NC.

My brother said I should try Porters and Stouts since I enjoy dissecting barrel proof bourbons lol

Oh man. You have literally limitless options. I would say go do a mix a 6 with many styles and figure out what you like. Where do you live? We can give you some recommendations to fill that 6er if we know what's available.

Up to 17 regular BCBS now, so probably gonna call it quits there.

Still only 4 coffee and barleywine though, that just won't do. Will probably end up trading a vanilla rye for more coffee.
Got 3 Prop, and will have 2 Regal once I send one more Prop I have out to swap with Kevin.
And 2 Rare which is PLENTY

I live in pretty much the beer capital of the South. Raleigh, NC is the home to like 12 breweries and has a bar with over 350 taps, the most at any once location on earth. http://www.theraleighbeergarden.com/

I'm running out of new bourbon to try, that why I need to get into beer
