I put a case in my cart. I went to the self-scan checkout. the cashier noticed i had my kid with me and she said "here, let me scan that for you". She scanned it....walked away...it rang up $19.99. She didn't say anything. I swiped my card. Went to the security check out and the lady looks at my receipt...swipes it with a sharpie and says "have a nice day!".

    case....$19.99.

After I checked out I guess they announced over the loud speaker that it was a 2 four pack limit. I needed to get out of there.

    Re: Favorite beer of choice?

Apparently CT has yet to receive any variants so today's stops weren't BCBS centric after the first:

    BA Narwhal
    BCBS 4-pack
    La Trappe Quad
    La Trappe Quad (Oak Aged)
Mutual Assured Destruction 4-pack (first bottling of a local RIS)
    Ovila Abbey Dubbel
    Riserva (2011 vintage)

As well as a few random singles. I took some time scouring shelves and noticed a batch of 2012 Goose Island offerings (Matilda, Sofie, Père Jacques and Pepe Nero) on a bottom shelf. Wasn't sure how they aged but I'll probably grab a few up next time I go back.

Hope everyone enjoys the fruit of their day's labor!

I got two bourbons and two barleywines from two different places today. Glad I was able to get at least two each. Gonna drink one each and then save the other two. Up to three years now on BCBS and two on the barley.

Yea, that collection pales to Kevin's experience with BCBS

I hit up three bottle shops in Charlotte today and did pretty well, but not great. Scored two 4-pks BCBS 14.4%, two single bottles of BCBS 13.8%, and a single bottle of BC Barleywine. I wasn't able to score any Coffee as it was super limited and vanilla wasn't even available in North Carolina.

No, it's the same one in the picture you posted sadly.

It was a great event, they included a sample of Nutulhu as well which was delicious! It was nice to hear the brewers stories about making the beer etc. Vanilla may have been my least favorite so I won't be out looking for that. Long day starting out at Lakefront in Milwaukee, I heard they sold out around noon. Cheers!http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...601077df0d.jpg

    Re: Favorite beer of choice?

I had a fairly decent Bourbon Co Black Friday yesterday. Met up with my buddy and his wife at 8:30 am with a fully laid out plan of all the bottle shops in Baltimore County to hit. First shop we hit we each walked out with a 4 pack of Bourbon Co Stout. From there on out, it was basically the same theme at all the local shops...plenty of the stout and none of the barleywine.

We were really disappointed with the lack of BW, but things did get better after the initial disappointment. We hit up a small shop in Baltimore called Pinehurst for a Bourbon Co tap takeover. Had to wait in line for an hour and the shop wound up not selling any bottles, but I did manage to get a 32 oz growler of 2012 Bourbon Co Stout and a 32 oz growler of 2013 Bourbon Co Barleywine! FYI, their taps included the stout from 2012, 2013, and 2014, the barleywine from 2013, and Nightstalker from 2011!!!

After scoring big with the mini growlers, we high tailed it down to Max's Taphouse, which had been opened since 8 am. They had advertised having stout, barleywine, and coffee, but we figured that the coffee would be long gone when we arrived at noon. To our surprise, it was still on and for the first time, I was able to bask in the sweet nectar of the gods that is Bourbon County Coffee! What an amazing beer! Also got to try samples of DuClaw Sweet Baby Jesus w/toasted marshmallow on cask, The Bruery Seven Swans a Swimming, De Struise Cuvee Delvinne, Beer Geek Breakfast, Beer Geek Brunch, and several others I am forgetting.

All in all, a disappointing day in the way of bottles, but buying some vintage Bourbon Co growlers and getting to try Coffee on tap seemed to dull the pain a little

    Cheers,
    Scott

My whole day was thrown off by a sick kid. He woke up at 5am vomiting. My wife couldn't take PTO and he couldn't go to daycare so I had to stay home with him. If I would have gone out I for sure would have gotten at least 2 Vanilla's and 2 four packs of coffee because my first two stops were selling when and what I thought they would be.

I was only able to go to Whole Foods for one bottle of coffee and Costco for the case of regular. I had already purchased barleywine last week so I didn't need much of that since it's my least favorite of the bunch. Still awesome, just not my jam for a regular drinking choice. Also was able to take my kid with me to twenty tap and had Vanilla Rye and Coffee on tap and then later in the evening, after being kid free, I had coffee and vanilla again on tap at Chatham. Went to Flat 12 and opened my 750 of Hill Farmstead Nelson.

I have a store holding me two bottles of coffee. An awesome dude in here is hooking up a Vanilla for me. I have traded one of my Bourbon County mugs for a four pack of coffee. And I am working on trading for about a case of coffee at this point.

So I should be all set. Would like more Vanilla bottles, but I am getting more than I thought I would when I decided to stay home with the kid. So I'm happy about that.

The Vanilla Rye is amazing. It's just got massive vanilla to it. Some awesome complexity with the rye barrel. Thick, sweet, and not very boozy. It's just awesome. I still prefer coffee but man....it's close.

Looking for some good Christmas brews that have any notes/hints of the following flavors:

    Cardamom
    Vanilla
    Cinnamon
    Clove
    Ginger
    Nutmeg
    Apple
