***Official Jones Beach 2015***

June 9, 2015

Glad to see this back, even if it's just for one night.

I have attached some pictures of the venue. For those of you who have never been or plan on making the trip, have a look at the pics so you can get a feel.

View is excellent, acoustics could be better, although I have never really found them that bad. Also, I believe most of the sound system, if not all, was redone after Sandy. They could be excellent now for all I know. Haven't been there since before Sandy.

A lot of people on here, including myself are from Long Island, so we should be able to answer any questions you may have.

Important note: Before false information is spread, Jones Beach Theater is NO LONGER A DRY VENUE. You can purchase alcohol inside even without VIP. The parking lot, due to its designation as a state park, is supposed to be dry. With that said, bring a solo cup and you'll be fine. They are, however, very strict with grilling (you can't).

Temperature will also be anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees lower than elsewhere on Long Island since its right off the water. Also expect wind. The lower sections are prone to flooding, although this may have been rectified following Sandy.

I will follow up in a little bit with hotel information.

Do you think this will be a hard ticket because of the year off and now one night? This'll probably be a last minute ticket purchase for me

For good seats, yes. To just be in the building, no.

Anyone know what the difference between the $85 reserved seats and the $75 reserved seats on WH for Jones Beach this year?

so there's no option to opt-out of reserved seating through the warehouse?

Idk for sure, but I would assume the $75 is mezzanine/nose bleeds, and $85 is everything else.

No, its stupid. But it seems like they are only doing the opt out for lawn. Hence, my warehouse membership goes to waste again bc I can pull good seats without the risk of shitty seats off the citi presale.

Being that these 2 gigs are within an hours drive (not counting brutal traffic) , I'd treat JB and PNC as a 2 nighter . If I still lived in Manhattan (full time) I would be all over these 2 gigs . I really enjoyed the 2013 JB gigs .

    I'm still shocked PNC isn't a 2 nighter . The 2013 and 2014 gigs were packed .

Unfortunately , I will not be able to get up there from Florida . That week I will be on a cruise .

    If I was able to , I would hit both , as I did in 2013 .

Looks like it's Camden X2 for me this summer .

Are you saying I can now buy a beer and drink it at my seat? or is there is a separate area away from the seats where you can drink and you do not have to be VIP?

That's a good question. I believe you might have to stay in a designated area. I'll see if I can find out more.

There is a designated area to buy alcohol, other than the VIP area now, but you have to drink in that area. Also, they don't open the area for every show. It was closed for Jimmy Buffett and Zac Brown shows that I went to

Most likely, although I don't think you'll hit much traffic on a weeknight between 11 and 12.

Depending on where you live in Connecticut, you can also look into the Bridgeport - Port Jefferson ferry.

Did anyone pull anything better than Stadium 1?

Edit: Keep checking, I have this suspicion that they will add the good seats after more of the shitty ones are bought. I think they do this for every show but b/c Jones Beach has less demand, they haven't been released yet.

Didn't the upper deck used to be a lot cheaper, like $40-50? Now they're $92 with fees. If I can't get a good seat, I may sit in the parking lot and enjoy the show for free.

Hi all. I haven't been to Jones Beach and was wondering what everyone's opinion is on the best seat in the house. Is Orchestra A going to hard to see because of the GA Pit (bear in mind I'm 5'7")? Would I be better off trying to snag mezzanine or uppers? This is one of the few venues that is actually easy to figure out, so I appreciate any help I can get.

No. You'll be fine. Orchestra or anywhere in stadium 1 is good. Standing room only, which is all the way off to the right also has a great view.

Last time the band was at Jones Beach, Carter was chilling behind the gates where the buses were parked. Came over to give some dap to all of the fans on the other side. One of the nicest dudes out there. Hope they haven't rearranged where the tour buses park.
