People seem to be into different types of campaigns (whether it be with Fonz on Twitter, signs at shows, or something like bringing those spoons out during the fall 2010 tour), but I can't think of an actual DMB 'song to be played' campaign I'd rather see here in 2012 than to bring DOOF into an actual reality of DMB playing it for a live audience during a show. Would be pretty remarkable, even if the song isn't a top 20/30 song to most people. Just a thought.

holy shit, that was awful. i knew i had stayed away from that for a reason. i would like to know the band has at least tried this with tim and the teleprompter but if it sounds anything like that, good for them keeping it out of shows. fuck me, that shit was terrible. makes me cringe hearing the lovely ladies. gross.

This! They could definitely do it it now if they wanted! And it didn't sound bad then. I think it would be really cool to bust it out a few times!

It isn't my favorite song, but DOOF is pretty awesome and would be nice to hear live. In particular, it's nice to actually be able to hear the horns there on the soundcheck. On the studio cut, Roi's licks are completely drowned out by the lousy production.

I would love to hear this played live. It couldn't be worse than Can't Stop or Corn Bread or be poorly received like Blackjack or Out Of My Hands.

don't get me wrong, even if they brought the lovely ladues out to guest, i'd much rather hear this than can't stop. but out of all the songs in the catalogue, i can name dozens off the top of my head that i'd rather hear.

I have always heard about that soundcheck, but never actually heard it. IMO, I don't think it was that bad. They just needed to practice it a bit more.

I just don't like the song, but I think that it could definitely have potential if it were given a little "polish" like Everybody Wake Up has this summer.

i think them playing DOOF is doable. but it would be next year, and a hell of a lot of tweeter campaigning.

I agree with you on the twitter part i could definitely see them busting it out at the Gorge if they wanted they would have plenty of time to work the song out how they wanted!

Ya, I definitely can see why it would be challenging for Dave, but practice makes perfect! Plus having Timmy here now like with Seven Dave can just dance and sing and strum when he wants to possibly. I'd love this to come out of it's shell! Wishful thinking!

I love how in the soundcheck, he forgets the lyrics and sings, "confused, confused", then one of the lovely ladies laughs.

Couldnt agree with crushmepig41 anymore!!! Dave needs to just stand there and dance like an idiot and sing whatever comes to his mind like the good old days!

    #DOOF

btw the lovely ladies were some of the best additions to shows! Folsom Field is in my opinion the greatest live album they released except for the worst rendition of recently of all time.. but the greatest what would you say ever!

Since Dave will probaby never sing it the way it was recorded he should rework it to make it manageable or include the chorus as an intro to two step like he does with time bomb
