Re: Dave and Boyd Ants Hoedown Jam and Dance. Fiddlers n2
Whatever. I'd possibly take it over any two night stand this year for the basic facts that there were very few of the recently overplayed songs included in either night and Bela Fleck was there. Jimi Thing, Shake Me, or Belly Belly Nice, which are played everywhere all the time, weren't played. You never felt like there was a break in the action. Hell, during the electric set and encore on N2, the "newest" song played was Gravedigger. You can't ask for a lot better.
But, I suppose it's pretty easy to see how that's pretty ordinary from DMB in the past decade. They're always really good about only playing the songs that the fans want to hear.
EDIT: I'm not claiming to be the authority on all things DMB, but I have some experience going to a lot of DMB shows over quite a few years. This was arguably the best overall 2-night stand I've ever personally witnessed from the band, with WPB 2010 also being considered.
