Dave and Boyd Ants Hoedown Jam and Dance. Fiddlers n2

Several people asked for it, I just happened to have my phone out at the right time. View is from the front of the pit and just to the left of Dave.

Show was incredible for both nights. I don't give a crap what all the snobs say, the boys rocked the house and did the old school fans proud.

Does anyone know where one can find audio of both nights?

    GODDAMN!

You would've never guessed Bela gusted based on that video. He should've been given a solo.

I have jumped on and off the DMB complaining band wagon. As fans, we are so spoiled and so entitled, it becomes easy to complain.

That being said, WE HAD NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT regarding the Colorado shows. Both nights were a treat. Not only in energy and band chemistry but the freaking setlists were amazing. They were almost like old school shows.

How can we complain with two nights filled with:
    Minarets
    41
    lie in our graves
    granny
    bartender
    Rapunzel
    Dancing nancies
    One sweet world
    Seek Up
    Crush
    Dreaming Tree
    Pig

Plus plenty of other gems. I've not looked at every two night run this summer, but I believe I would be hard pressed to find a more impressive collection of nights.

eh, outside of Pig and DT, those are all standards for the tour. With Bela, I really wish they would have dug deeper. Good shows, just nothing to write home about.

Hes not wrong though. While the shows were probably good to very good, they dont stand out compared to the rest of the tour. Nothing particularly special about the weekend, just solid throughout. If you didnt see other shows this year you'd probably leave very happy. If youve been to another 2 night stand and some solo shows, its was pretty meh overall in comparison. It was miles better than Camden, but thats probably the only 2 night stand it was better than.

Whatever. I'd possibly take it over any two night stand this year for the basic facts that there were very few of the recently overplayed songs included in either night and Bela Fleck was there. Jimi Thing, Shake Me, or Belly Belly Nice, which are played everywhere all the time, weren't played. You never felt like there was a break in the action. Hell, during the electric set and encore on N2, the "newest" song played was Gravedigger. You can't ask for a lot better.

But, I suppose it's pretty easy to see how that's pretty ordinary from DMB in the past decade. They're always really good about only playing the songs that the fans want to hear.

EDIT: I'm not claiming to be the authority on all things DMB, but I have some experience going to a lot of DMB shows over quite a few years. This was arguably the best overall 2-night stand I've ever personally witnessed from the band, with WPB 2010 also being considered.

There is no chance last weekend was better than Alpine or WPB. But again, doesnt make it bad by any means.

Yeah, I don't agree. I would have loved to attend Alpine and WPB this year. If I got to see all the setlists ahead of time, it would be a tough decision, but I'd pick the Denver shows for Bela Fleck and Dreaming Tree.

The other thing to consider is the totality. When you look at the big picture of these two nights, it was off the charts. So they played this song here or that song there but shoot, did dave even pick up an electric guitar all weekend?

This tour has been really good.. Spac, Alpine, Deer Creek, WPB, and CO were all awesome two night runs..

Camden was the only two night stand that coulda been better..

This is how I feel about the Central Park set on paper. But getting that many staples in a row (even if all commonly played), plus the performances, is what makes it special. I go back and forth debating with myself what is "special" or "great"--whether I want something just really solid or a total surprise/teh rarez. I think the answer is either one works.
