So far, after the first 3 shows of 2015:

25 total acoustic songs played over 3 shows.

6 songs introduced in 2015 not played in the acoustic set in 2014 (including the ATSB segue)

19 songs played in the acoustic set that were played in the 2014 acoustic set.

3 different openers/3 different closers. (two new openers/closers that weren’t used as openers/closers in 2014)

Dissapointed when it wasnt two electric sets...but gotta say the song selection for acoustic thus far is not bad. At least different from last year. Thingi always loved about the band was the punch carter and fonz delivered...y'all know that boom in the amphitheaters im talkin bout. Im 27...ive seen 35 shows but my heyday was dmb 2.0...gotta get used to this new setup but it might work...just knowing going in what to expect. Its what the band wants to do and if it makes them happy to keep playing then ill be happy to listen. cheers

and even a couple of the songs that were played acoustic last year were only played a couple times, not every other night like most were. so far, i think they've done a good job mixing up the acoustic set this year. through the first 3 shows, they've done a good job mixing everything. 58 different songs played so far, only 12 have been played 2 or 3 times. hopefully they continue with pulling out a bunch of new songs in the next few shows as well rather than just relying on what they have already and only adding one or 2 new songs each night. no reason why they can't have 7-10 debuts the next 3 shows before they get into duplicating everything.

Love the acoustic set... not a bad song in there so far. Hopefully they keep adding new ones as the tour goes on.

really? cause it's not even acoustic. the only thing "acoustic" is that tim and Stefan are playing different instruments

As long as performances and song choices are good I don't care what they bill it as or what type of instruments they use

I was a bit nervous like everybody else after the Austin show but really excited with the variety in the acoustic sets the last two Texas stops. This is what we wanted from the acoustic set last year. Let's hope they debut some more this week and keep it fresh for as long as possible. Encores are stellar again as well! Huge improvements from 2014

Cool how Carter has a real drum kit this year rather then the bongos and whatever other percussion he used last year. From the videos and the set lists (on paper) the acoustic set this year is a lot better then last years already.

Reason enough for the entire thing.

If it were 2 electric sets, I would have sold the tickets I bought to the 1 show I plan on attending. The Acoustic set is the only thing interesting that they're doing.

Tim playing an acoustic guitar does make a huge difference IMO.

It's a different sound for the acoustic set, so I like it. I'd rather have it instead of just two electric sets. Was worried after that first show but they have added some different songs into it the last couple shows, so that was nice to see. Hope they keep that up.

For some, having 2 members play acoustic instruments is enough to qualify the entire set as acoustic.

For others like myself, it's not just a change up of instruments as it is an approach and reworking of the material to suit a more subtle, stripped-down style. Play with the tempo, soften the high points of a song to a more mellow mood overall. Maybe even get creative with the jams, giving different members a chance to shine on songs they normally don't. Think of the first time you heard a D+T show as compared to DMB. That's the feeling I was hoping to get from the acoustic set in 2014. Except the band just continues to play as if they weren't acoustic at all, save for a few Dave solo tunes.

Like some correctly point out, the acoustic set by design just doesn't work in the amphitheater setting. So the band has to "turn up" the energy to keep people focused on the whole, thus defeating the idea of an acoustic set in the first place.

To be fair, I'm not sure DMB or their marketing dept have billed 2015 as an acoustic/electric evening. They just said 2 sets. The band is filling in those sets however they choose.
