Not everyone follows the band to the extent we do. My brother loves DMB but hadn't been to a show since 2004. At last year's Mansfield show he didn't know Tim was with them and had to ask who it was. He then said "Oh, that's Tim Reynolds???!!! I thought that was some random chick up there!"

In his defense, Tim has been looking like a little old Asian woman these days.

It's a pet peeve of mine, when someone says someone calling the band just Dave is a pet peeve of theirs. I know I'm a little late to the game on this b/c it was earlier in the thread but get real. It's not disrespectful to the other members of the band. The entire band chose to make the name The Dave Matthews Band. We are just shortening the name of the entire band to one word. The Rolling Stones = The Stones, is that disrespectful to the rolling? If you call Led Zeppelin just Zeppelin are you offending Led? You wanna talk about wanting to slap people......"Oh I thought it was the entire band playing, not just Dave" are the people who need to be slapped.

Guy was 100% certain they were going to play Crush in the acoustic set because Stefan brought the stand-up bass out, just screaming things like "Oh man you just watch, Stefan is going to start playing Crush on the bass!!!"

They wheeled out the piano so obviously Mercy was next. Dave started playing the first chords and the girl in front of me goes, "Mercy!" Then once Dave started singing the lyrics the same guy from before yells to her "Oh man Mercy you totally called it! I knew I shouldn't doubt somebody on the rail!!"

Lastly there was someone who had been going to shows for over 20 years and got their first You & Me...just kinda shocked that someone could still be missing that song. (of course its hard to say how many shows shes seen in those 20 years)

This guy in front of me in Atlanta said that he went to his first show in '96 and had been consistently going to shows until 2009. He rolled a joint, and he and I shared it since his girlfriend didn't smoke. He started by turning around and singing lines from Jimi Thing, and then DIDO, and within 20 minutes he was singing Scarlet Begonias and Althea. I couldn't tell if he'd just decided he wanted to hear GD songs, or if he literally confused the two. Never saw him again after the acoustic set.

Buddy of mine just sent me this. He was in the last row of section 2 last night.

"There was a guy next to us from NJ. It was his 25th show and he was cool. Then during black and blue bird I ran to the bathroom. I got back and he was hounding me for picking that song to run out lol. Like didn't let it go.. Then after so right he said is that another bathroom break song for you? I said no way. Anything but. And he said oh okay I'm surprised. Like really?"

Lol exactly . Y'all need to focus on other things in life rather than if Dave Matthews band plays "grey street" in the encore . And if they do and someone is excited to hear it . Then bash them for enjoying the encore at a concert they paid good money to "enjoy" ?!? You guys rock . Seriously . Rock on .

Another one in this thread -- " I hope they play everyday " ( standard DMB fan )

Douchebag ants member " hahahhaha holy shit lmfao I feel bad for that guy "

You think maybe that the fella enjoys the song everyday ??? And that same fella doesn't watch and bitch about every single Dave Matthews band set ? And actually listens to other music but defiantly is a fan of the Dave Matthews band and likes everyday and paid good money to of see them once this summer and ....... Hopes he hears one of his favorite Dave Matthews band songs..... Everyday .

The douchebags are you guys ...

I am going to a show this summer ... Dte . I hope they play the shit out of everyday . In fact I hope they open with it . I would be thrilled ! And I hope to god they play grey st in the encore . That would be killer . Maybe a little Dave solo sister in encore slot 1 . That would be sweet !

Hating on Grey Street has become the new thing to do around here. While it isn't what it used to be, it's still a pretty powerful song in the live setting. I'm not entirely crazy about it closing shows, but they could do much worse to close a show, like play Thank You, and then immediately reprise Thank You.

guess somebody needs to let Jake know to shut the doors to AM.org. Apparently discussion of DMB is no longer allowed.

It wasn't stupid per say but one thing I kept getting yelled in my ear in Tuscaloosa after every song was finished was "GOOD GOOD TIME!"

Seriously hope that guy isn't an ant but if he is, dude chill out.

A stupid thing I heard waiting in line for the Pit was "Dave has played like 1200 shows which means he's played Ants about 5000 times. He's got to be sick of that song."
That math just doesn't add up...

I guess this wasn't stupid, but more annoying. A couple girls behind me were SHRIEKING through the entire Jimi Thing jam for Sexy MFer at Riverbend, and naturally, when they played it, the girls levitated and lost their collective shit. Surprised I still have ear drums.

Hope this is a joke. But if it is not a joke why in the fuck would you want everyday to open a show and a sister e1.? I would be funny if dave wrote a good set with a last stop opener and a BOWA e1 that day.

A stupid thing I heard waiting in line for the Pit was "Dave has played like 1200 shows which means he's played Ants about 5000 times. He's got to be sick of that song."
That math just doesn't add up...
Yeah I heard that guy yelling good good time. Atleast he was yelling a decent song and not yelling you & meeeeeeeee!!!!! Also some guy next to me was yelling sweet up and down acoustic during the acoustic set. But that doesn't bother me at all its a lot better than people yelling dave play cornbread!!!!

    Everyday's a good opener, though.

tyler, I agree with pretty much every song on your list I think it goes to prove the point though that there are so many more tunes that work as an opener than as a closer.

Yea here lies the problem, IMO, with the abbreviated "Dave" reference to the band. Personally, I can't stand it when people reference the band with just "Dave" because, in the majority of the instances I've run into, they follow up with "Well, HE played this" or questions of "Where's his next tour stop? What did he play?" etc etc etc It should be noted, however, that I really don't have many fellow big fans of the band to discuss with so that surely plays into it as well.

I abbreviate it as DMB, always. Everyone loves Dave, sure, I get it, but I love this band and all things that make it up......err, well at least the big 5, but that's another story. You get the idea

Had a few dumb things heard at Woodlands'15 show but they're escaping me at the moment, probably let them slip my mind so I'd enjoy the show
