What You Are vs. Halloween

Ill never complain of Halloween at a show, but listening to the BOWA bonus disc of What You Are made me remember how bad ass this song is...

I heard What You Are at my first show and I would really like to hear it again before another Halloween.

I've never seen What You Are live , and I love the song, so that's the one I'd rather get at a show at this point.

I think Halloween is the better song, though. To me it's this abstract expression of rage and betrayal, and I dig that.

I'd take older versions of Halloween, but now I'd want What You Are. I feel like Tim, on Halloween, sounds like he's calling the mothership.

This is correct, song perceptions change for people when they become more commonly or less commonly played. I've never been one to view the songs that way

I've been lucky enough to have seen both songs live, however Halloween just has a special punch with hardcores like myself! I love a special what you are intro but still would take Halloween!

It's beacause i hate it with this lineup. Honestly, way too much tim and dave can't sing it well anymore, not enough raw emotion and power. With that said the west palm one is good but I haven't liked any other ones this tour.

I don't necessarily agree, but I can appreciate that position infinitely more than the argument that the song should stay super rare.

Yeh, I like holloween in rotation. Even since they have been playing holloween more often I still haven't heard it live. I missed it by one show in 2014.

Nothing to do with rarity, I just really enjoy What You Are with the current lineup and I hate how Tim sounds on Halloween like most people... But again I love hearing it at a show.

Both of these tunes are in my top 10. Been chasing Halloween forever and agree its lost some luster over the years being in solid rotation but I still love it and desperatly want to hear it live one day. Ive always loved What You Are. Caught it a few times in 05 and was great each time though I will say I did get tired of it closing back then. Would love to see a What You Are-Last Stop one day as those two have always seemed to go together in my eyes
