Best LT release of the last 10

I'm going to make a poll of the band's best in-store releases, and I bet the vast unwashed majority vote LiC as their second/third best release.

It's a great release. I'm pretty sure the only song they redubbed with Boyd is LIOG. Other than that, it's fantastic.

pnp --> rapunzel - good solid version but certainly not a standout. I'll take all 98, 99, and 00 released versions over this one

what are you - good song and a nice performance of it here but nothing special to me. not top 50 dmb material in my opinion

sleep to dream her - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz roi almost saves this for me but i cant overlook the rest of the song
** EXCELLENT version - this was the biggest pleasant surprise to me.. Roi's work is great. **

grace is gone - the intro thing is super cool because it's rare and we here at ants love rare shit! grace its gone itself is an average song in my opinion

** No it's ABOVE average.. sound is excellent on this..

** WHERE IS DISC 3?? Bonus disk is excellent and better than the Bonus disk of LT 34 IMO
favorites: Minarets (Ladies are OK here), DIDO, BEF->Bartender (EXCELLENT).. **

So here is a quick recap on my view of this show

highlights: satellite, rhyme and reason, pnp rapunzel, grace is gone intro(rare!), jimi thing, tripping billies

almost highlights: JTR, best of whats around! So close!

Standard: space between, what you are, grace is gone, when the world ends, granny, stay, waste

skips(low lights): mother father, everyday, true reflections, sleep to dream her
** STDH is a HIGHlight


so in total i find 11 of the 18 tracks to be pretty average or below average

the bonus disc is great however and is a HUGE addition to this. this show needs that bonus disc badly

** Only song i skip is Angel.. Dave sounds better on this release than any in recent memory - found myself liking this ED era release ; Ladies don't hurt the sound at all **

Nice edits to the original post and I agree that the bonus disc on 31 or better than 34.

i'm going to have to respectfully disagree with the majority of your analysis and stand by my original breakdown. given your location and and join date, i would assume that you attended this show and maybe even all 3 nights of the stand?

yes, you're right, i dont really like the everyday album. and i agree with you that the bonus disc for lt31 is terrific, only real stand out part of the release in my opinion. but i would still take lt34's bonus disc over lt31's. big eyed fish --> bartender, lover lay down, and as crashintonick has stated, maybe the best released version of DDTW are the only songs that truly fire me up on the bonus disc.

hey first- i appreciate your opinion and i have been to this venue many a time.. but i did not attend any shows in 2001. i had a listen yesterday again to lt 34 and it is a very nice release. we just differ in our opinions and thats ok. i agree that lt 34 bonus disk setlist is superior to lt 31 at least on paper.. the thing about lt 34 for me is that every song is good but nothing really sounds special. it sounds like i have heard the same versions of certain songs on other releases. so if i want to hear some very good, classic but standard versions of dmb songs i will listen to lt 34.. lt 31 has some excellent and unique versions of certain songs..just my opinion.
