I question it all the time. I'd never do something like that. But, then again, I probably wouldn't get a Fire Dancer either. Two of my tattoos are religious for my parents (who are both passed) and two are tribal markings I got when I was 18. Any other tattoo I get will be things that I know 100% will never change about me. IE: I want the old school Philadelphia Eagles emblem eventually.

My favorite is when people say, "That's going to look bad when he puts on weight" or "That's going to look like shit when the skin starts sagging."

    1. Some people like to stay in shape over their lifetime. That might not be an issue.
    2. I'm pretty sure that when I get to the point where I'm like 80 and my shit starts sagging that I won't overly care how I look with my shirt off.
When I'm 80, I'll be more worried about if I'll shit when I sneeze, rather than if my ink looks good or bad.

I feel like this is a common assumption made by people that have tattoos, then think about what they did, but can't go back.

Thing is, you can go back these days. It just costs money and hurts like a bitch.

The only way I see regretting any of my tattoos is if the one on my wrist keeps me from getting a job somewhere down the line.

I can cover it with a wristwatch though, if I have to, so I'm not too worried about that possibility.

I didn't get my tattoos on a whim. The tattoos have very special meanings to me that have meant something to me for a very long time. That's not going to change.

for those of you with tats what was the worst spot for pain for you personally???

I have a small one on top of my foot, probably the size of a half dollar and I seriously have never felt pain like that and like to think I have a pretty high tolerance for pain...

other one is on my left ankle, probably about 6 inches long, probably covering 5x the surface area of the one on my foot and I sat through that one, and a refill of the colors no problem

I have tattoos on the inner side of both biceps. Those fucking hurt like shit. None of my others really hurt that much at all (outer bicep, back of both arms, chest and wrist).

The one on my wrist hurt the most. I was supposed to get two tattoos that day (about a month ago), but by the time she was done with the wrist, I was like "Nope, can't sit through another one" . The one on my ankle and thigh did not bother me nearly as much as the one on the wrist.

i'm kind of surprised inner side of the bicep hurt so much but I suppose that area is pretty sensitive... typically it seems like spots with no meat hurt the worst, there literally is NOTHING but skin on top of the foot, I will never ever get anything else on the tops of my feet or refill that one if I even needed to, fuck that. I have had it for 6 years now and it still looks great

Yea, that skin is so soft there, which I think is why it hurt so much.

My wife has one on her foot, and said it was terribly painful.

I really wanna get something on my side, going down my ribcage. But my weight fluctuates too often, so I'm worried about it stretching awkwardly.

I think it's because there is more muscle than fat there (theoretically speaking ), like on my wrist. I didn't think the wrist would hurt as much as it did, and I don't have boney wrists.

I can't imagine a wrist tattoo ever preventing you from getting a job these days unless it was something that was profane or along those lines. Though, like you said, they're easy to cover with either a watch or a bunch of bracelets.

The one on my back was incredibly painful. Anytime you do one near bone, there are more nerve endings, and it causes all sorts of crazy sensations. My artist could have been working near my right shoulder and I'd feel it at the bottom of my left. Longer lines hurt more, too. The knot work on both of mine involved a lot of short curves, but anytime there was a long straight line, that started to feel like I was being cut.

Is that something to worry about? I mean, I'm sure it does if you're really overweight and then drop a ton, but for the normal person?
