Sweet Briar vs D&T Live Trax

Hey all, I'm looking at getting some "new" music, and was wondering if anyone had strong opinions about Sweet Briar or one of the D&T Live Trax. I'm sure any of them will be good, but curious to see if anyone had strong preferences one way or the other.

They're both really good but I prefer the '97 D&T show LT, 24 I think. Good setlist and an one of the best Warehouse intros.

Live Trax 23 is a must own in my opinion.

I really enjoy Sweet Briar. If you were thinking about getting both, Id get Sweet Briar, and get a D&T from a different year than 96/ 97. The sound is just to similar to Sweet Briar (which isn't neccesarily a bad thing). But Id recommend getting a D&T from 99 or 03

Depends on what you want. Sweet Briar is the most unique release we've ever seen across the board, so I would say go with that.

The sets all look really good. I think i'll go with Sweet Briar for its uniqueness... plus I always love hearing solo dave... Would love to see a dave solo tour!

As others have said, Sweet Briar is the most unique release we have had. Fantastic set list. Dave makes a lot of mistakes in the second half of the show, but that doesn't really detract from the experience. It's great to hear him in such a candid environment.

You won't be disappointed with either. If you have to choose one now, save 15 bucks for next month and another one.

Sweet Briar is really special. The sound is phenomenal, it's a full length Dave solo show which is very rare. And he's in really great mood that comes across in the songs.

D & T 99 in Utah would be next suggestion. 1999 is really the best era of Dave and Tim. Luther College will never be topped from 1996. That's why I don't recommend the LT 23 right now. (It's my least favorite D & T release by far)

The 4-22-93 D & T release is phenomenal too. The second show they ever played together I believe, but it is just unreal. Tim's playing and the rawness and newness of all the material makes it a very passionate show. Hint: This one can be found at Dreamingtree.org and it sounds really good.

You won't be disappointed no matter what with these options

Great advice. I'll check out that 4/22 release on Dreamingtree... You are right about LC, will never be topped. It is one of my favorite DMB related releases ever, everything about it is so well done.

I think I'll go with Sweet Briar for now.

Luther College and Radio City will always be the standards of comparison for Dave and Tim releases.

As are Red Rocks and Central Park for the whole band. That's where the bar is set.
