Love the wordiness... reminds me of BTCS. The lyrical feel of this song will grow on us. Sometimes the best songs take a few listens to become awesome.

I'm thinking this song is going to have the same structure as GIG...Dave/Sax Intro/Verse then maybe still just Dave with a little sax or violin on the first chorus, then Carter/rest of the band come in on the second verse, then song builds and culminates with Carter/Dave sing last two chorus' then long mellow jam at the end of the song...just what's going on in my head

captain kirk's backing vox on the last chorus are fantastic. makes me think carter and rashawn are really gonna hopefully do the same and really belt it out. Great somber little number to listen to.

Love them too. Makes the song even better.

Was there no talk about the new DMB record?

do we know why captain kirk was the second guitarist on this? was it just because timmy like had another show or something? it would be quite awesome (although guarantee it won't happen) if they stole captain kirk from the roots for a tour or two....

We see this exact language in Exodus 14 as Moses leads the Israelites out of Egypt and to the sea.

10 As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the LORD. 11 They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!”

13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
15 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16 Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.

Basically God telling the Egyptians, "Quitcher bitchin! Crying won't do you any good!" and telling Moses, "Don't just sit there and wait for Me! Get off your asses and do something so I CAN intercede!".

Guys, this song is obviously about the state that the band is in right now:

Mercy will we overcome this? (the last 3 crummy albums they made)
One by one could we turn it around? (get some fans back on their side)
Maybe, carry on just a little bit longer (they're getting up there in age)
And I try to give you what you need (get back Lillywhite and capture what people have been looking for)

pretty sure it's "crying won't save or feed a hungry child."

i think i like "save our feet" better. maybe nike could use this in a new ad campaign.

i have to say i am sort of in disbelief. people really think this sing is "great?"

they really have done a good job over the years of lowering your expectations.

#41, Warehouse, Dancing Nancies and Recently are GREAT songs. This is not. if you think it stands up to those tunes, i can't help you. it's just a harmless ditty that i could never hear again and not miss. the best part is the backup vocals.

i am sure it will be a MONSTER live though!

seriously? a good song is a good song. full band or solo, that won't change.
