a hall of fame power hitter who led the league in homeruns in each of his first 7 seasons and went on to have a fruitful broadcasting career with the Mets. a true pirates great

It was a question regarding when the Pirates would finally have a playoff season, which they obviously achieved last season. I've been posting that in this thread once a year for awhile now. About the only thing I contribute really.

Saw you bumped the thread and figured now would be as good a time as any to make this year's contribution. Go Bucs.

i'm looking at going to a game this week, but i've never been to pittsburgh. where is a good place to park, and how much does parking cost? and how bad is traffic leaving the game? trying to figure out if it would be better to stay in a hotel near pnc park and walk or just pay for parking and stay outside the city a bit. i'm driving from scranton to denver and stopping in pittsburgh for a night, so i'm looking for the cheaper alternative. driving for a while after the game isn't an issue.

kinda funny, the Pirates have gone 68-45 since May 20th. That record over all the games (95-62 pace) would be the top in the entire NL and 2nd in major league baseball.

hi guys, i couldnt find a Steelers thread so I thought I'd check in this Pirates thread and see if anyone can help.

i'm thinking of taking my fiancee to a steelers game (shes a huge fan) in november when they play the saints. ive been looking on craigslist for tickets. we are driving from maryland ,so would you recommend getting a lot pass? or are there places near by to park? or is there any public transportation or shuttle to get you to the stadium. anything else you can recommend about the Heinz Field experience? (good/bad seats, what time to get there, etc...)

Anyone else see the posted list for autograph sessions at Pirate Fest? Did you see that Sid Bream is signing autographs?!?!?! I mean Sid Bream ?!?!?! WTF.

Oh, and now in lieu of charging admission to Pirate Fest the Pirates are charging for autographs.

So to recap, the Pirates are bringing back one of the guys from arguably one of the most gut wrenching moments in Pirates history but they are charging to see him. Why don't they bring in Bonds and Cabrera too?

apparently they are doing this because the crowds were getting way too big and out of control at pirates fest. not saying i agree with the approach, because i don't, the pirates are fucking thieves....but i can attest to the mayhem it's been at pirates fest the last 3 years
