That sucks, he was awesome. I looked up to him when I was 11. Link for the report?

Sad news. He and Tony Hawk were absolute icons as I grew up with the XGames. He was born/raised in a nearby town here in Central NY, and came back to visit every now and then. Way too young, so unfortunate that this happens.

Oh shit, suicide? I would have guess he died on his bike.

Remember his video game for PS1 I think?

Sad news. Loved watching him as a kid. I remember his and Matt Hoffman's games being the shit. RIP. Wonder if CTE was involved.

This sucks. Very curious to know if he was suffering from CTE from repeated concussions.

Easily my all-time favorite X-Games athlete. Had the video games and his toy bikes that you could buy at wal-greens for like $10. Begged my parents for months for a BMX bike with pegs because of him.

So sad. Sending all the best to his wife and kids and family and friends. Way too soon.

Athletes deaths always hit me harder than other celebrities. Growing up and watching and idolizing and trying to imitate their moves. They seem bigger than life and suoer human. Sad to hear its suicide. Rip.

Such sad news...I had his signature DC shoes as a freshman in high school and I always felt like I was the shit when I wore them. Such an icon in the action sports world...ride in peace.

Also, despite being an 'o' , quality thread name. I wonder what mine would be if I was famous and died?

This. Also curious about the CTE part. Unfortunately, not to sound insensitive, but I don't know if they'd be able to tell all that much in this case given the circumstances?

Think I saw somewhere last night that Hoffman has had in the neighborhood of 100 concussions? It's gotta add up at some point for these guys.

I'll always remember him and Hoffman on bike vert, Hawk and McDonald in skate vert, battling things out during the summer XGames.

If you watch any recent interviews with Hoffman it is incredibly disturbing. He can barely form full sentences without stuttering.

    Sad stuff for sure.

Would not be the least bit surprised if it starts to come out that a lot of these x games athletes have cte.

I was more shocked out loud reading this news last night than I was for Bowie, Lemmy, etc.
