I'm going to hit 1,500 posts before we leave for the Gorge. I guarantee it.

My involvement on this forum has super tapered off over the years. It's probably because I've developed this way of coping with Post Gorge blues- and that is I don't listen to DMB or participate in any DMB fan stuff for at least two months post gorge. It now extends usually well into the new year. I set a new record this year- I didn't let myself listen to any DMB until the summer time. I mean, i wouldn't turn it off if it came on shuffle but I didn't specifically seek it out. This is to protect my poor fragile emotional states.

Honestly, my music tastes are super eclectic I think is the reason. I need that time in the year to go through my phases and the summer is always reserved for DMB. In high school, Sublime was summertime music to me. Nowdays, that's exclusively DMB territory.

I too do have other tastes, but DMB is always my go-to. Has been since '96. I'm not one to sit and listen to all DMB during tailgate or camping. I'm not "that guy". There is some in the rotation. I'm sort of a geek as I was in the industry for over 25 years. Tour guy. Mostly systems tech but towards the end more engineering and management. Seen a lot of bands. To me, good musicians are good musicians. Period

I respect that, and often use it as part of my argument with people who are skeptical when I tell them how awesome DMB is, haha. My girlfriend plays all the DMB around the house, so I definitely get it in the mix. It really is just a mechanism to keep me from getting too jazzed up for the Gorge...in April.. haha. Next year could be completely different though, with the possibility of no Gorge stop...

Bite your tongue. Jk. Heard some rumors bout next year. Don't have a direct line to that camp, but a "friend of a friend" kinda thing. But you know....rumors. That's why made the most of this year that I could possibly afford. 7 shows towing 4 noobs. And I bought all the tix.

Anyone have any good ideas to pass the time besides drinking? I'm thinking of tailgating games but I'm flying out and can't pack any games that I can think of. I also not up for buying a store bought ladder golf or cornhole for $$$$ and then throwing it away. Not to mention the store bought versions always suck.

Kidding. For us Gorge is like a big reunion, so there's just lots of general merriment and hanging out and catching up.

We're going to have a craft corner with friendship bracelets and colouring.

Chances are high you will have close neighbours with a set of bags or ladder ball, you can trade a few beers for the use of their games.

It is Plaza VIP, comes with VIP packages.

Star parking is pretty good too. Its only other place I've parked. Gets you out quick

I picked up a shade tent from wal mart for $35. It packs up to be about 18" long and 6" diameter in it's bag after my test set-up in my backyard. It's big enough for 3 people to sit under and provides overhead and side shade

You do not need a parking pass for general parking.

There is some partying in the parking lot but the majority of it is in the various camping areas. In the the front of the main parking lot is Gold camping so maybe connect with some of the Ants here that are camping there and you could hang at their camp spots and party. I would offer but we are not camping in Gold...too far away from the lovely crazy masses for us:-) Otherwise you could walk the mile over to general and definitely find many folks welcoming you into their party!
