It's sad. I live about 2 hours from the venue, but refuse to go back to another show there. The venue is about as bad as it gets. Trying to hit New Hampshire for two shows, though.

In 2014 I waited from 6:30am to be 4th in line for the show in Bangor. We made it into the venue and the staff tried to get us to SPLIT UP INTO FOUR LINES... essentially putting people that had waited for only a couple of hours in the same position as me. I made a huge stink about it and the guy at the venue was like "Relax, everyone is going to get up front." I had to explain to him that I didn't wait for 12 hours to be anywhere but on the rail directly in front of Dave. Some people in the line agreed and luckily there was someone sensible on the staff that continued the process of having us enter single file for the pit. It was like these idiots running the venue had never been to a concert before...

Just be careful going here. I moved from Maine to San Francisco so I'm not dealing with Bangor again (although I'm considering flying home for the NH shows), but I think I'd avoid it altogether even if I did live there. It was great finally being in the front at my 34th show, but the idiots on staff almost ruined that for me.

There is at least 1 person from WFC on here, a long time Ant actually. I won't out him in case he doesn't want to chime in but he seems like a good guy and I know several people that work there and they're all good guys.

I don't expect perfection but most of the comments I have read about the 2014 show are true, albeit slightly harsh. I'm sure they do the best they can, crowd control of 20,000+ people at a relatively new venue can't be easy.

All that being said, the entry needs to be more organized and Warehouse members probably ought to have a head start.

I can only hope WFC gets enough CONSTRUCTIVE feedback to take all the comments seriously. A polite email could be a good start. These people are in the entertainment and hospitality industry. They do not profit from pissing customers off. I have seen huge improvement in the venue and crowd control since the first season down there, and I have no doubt it will continue to improve.

The first step is complete, we have a show, I'm very thankful for that. Now let's all work together to make it a great show.

We were at Bangor in the pit in 2014. We had a great time and I thought it was awesome that the pit wasn't actually completely full (they didn't try to oversell it). Had our own bar and washrooms etc so that worked out great. The General Admission for the full site though will likely be chaotic. Sure it gives everyone a chance to get close, but I'd rather have a seat than be crowded in GA with 20,000 people.

I am here! Been buried at work. But I am open to here everyone's concerns and will be working with the team to make sure this time around is awesome. Personally I think the venue runs much better with an all GA show. We did Phish that way in 2013 and it was great.

There are many reasons why 2014 was a bit of a sh$t show that I won't go into but trust me running a venue on city land next to a river and railroad is not easy.

I've been in contact with the venue, and I voiced my concerns constructively. They have told me that they are aware of the issues from the 2014 show and are working to improve the experience.

That member was actually very helpful before and after the show answering questions for Ants going to the show. And they were very good about taking in constructive feedback from folks who went to the show. If you haven't done the venue and wanna take a little ride, it might actually be worth it. The town rolled out all the stops with welcome signs and discounts at many of the businesses, it was beautiful along the river and our hotel(casino) was within walking distance.

However, my experience was just too rotten and the locale too far. With general admission for the whole field, eek, I'll take two NH shows at a nice venue over risking it at that venue again.

This is hard to say as a native Mainer living in Colorado now, but of the 35 shows I have seen since 03' in 10 different states, this was the worst venue I experienced. It lacked basic facilities, restrooms, I was told I could not go get to an ATM from where I was without leaving and coming back in, the access to the porta johns were really bad, the sound was not good, and the venue felt like what it is; temporary, you could tell the management and staff were trying to figure out how to handle it. Although it is exciting to see DMB return again I will be heading to VA and the Gorge instead. I am sure it will be better and wishing nothing but a great experience to all who are going.

Thanks for chiming in. I really have enjoyed all the concerts I have attended at Waterfront and I'm so glad we have the venue in town. Obviously you guys do a great job procuring acts, thanks for getting DMB again!

The 2014 show was a good time. I was in the pit and didn't love the lack of control over who entered the pit. By the 2nd set the pit was overfilled. I don't know if they stopped checking tickets or if people were hopping the barriers but it was crazy. I know this show is GA so that should solve that issue.

We had friends on the lawn and they said the sound was really quiet. I don't know if Bangor has limited this, I know sound complaints have been an issue in the past.

Lastly, do you guys plan on granting Warehouse members early entrance? I believe the Warehouse page says that they recommend early entrance but it's ultimately up to the venue. If there will be early entrance for Warehouse tix how will that work? Separate entrance?

Has anyone else noticed that Ringo Starr and his All Stars are playing in Bangor the very same night as DMB. The start time is 7:30 so ther most like wont be any interaction opertunity, but who knows? It might happen.
Nonetheless the Rock Gods will be smiling on Bangor June 8th.

My only complaint from the last Maine show was the sound. It just didn't seem to be concert level volume. Glad to hear that will not be the case this time.

Downtown Bangor is very close to the venue and there are tons of bars and restaurants.

My faves -

Food:

Upscale - 11 Central and Blaze. Massimo has great Italian food but can be hit or miss on service.

Middle of the road - Paddy Murphy's and Pepinos

Quick/inexpensive - Verve (burritos), Giacomo's (sandwiches)

Breakfast - Bagel Central


Drinks: Nocturnem and Blaze have incredible beer selections. Evenroods has the best "mix drink" bar.

There are quite a few breweries within a 10 minute drive. My favorites in order are - Orono Brewing CO, Black Bear Brewing, Geaghan Brothers Brewing, Marsh Island.


Such a great place to explore. Have fun!
