i'm not sure if i'll be tailgating or not yet. I work Thursday night, going straight to the airport and flying down there, picking up rental car and checking into the hotel. gonna catch a quick nap so I'm not dead for the show, and pound a redbull or 10, then head over

Had the chance at CLT pits today until the guy on WH decides to not log on for nearly 2 days after he posted a certain trade listing causing me to have to give up what I had.

Note to everyone: if you post tickets FS, FT or even ISO, you need to be prepared to check up on it and at least be aware people are trying to contact you. That pisses me off.

Man that sucks. I never had any luck w/ pit. Last time we went it seemed the pit was over booked or something. They were elbow to elbow back to back. In cville 10 I don't remember it being nearly as bad as Charlotte

I already have some good seats (first couple rows of middle uppers), but was going to jump at pit and chill on the back rail. No harm, no foul, but I just got annoyed lol.

Good deal, I would be interested in meeting up with some of you guys as well. I may end up going to the show solo because my friends all made other plans for Memorial Day weekend and are obviously not as dedicated as I am.

I'm sure you'll find plenty of NC brews to try out while you're in town. Tons of breweries in the south end area if you have time outside the show.

Anyone else sitting in the lawn? Purchased lawn seats this year due to budgetary reasons.

Downtown Charlotte? Not sure that's accurate... If it's Clanton Road, don't leave anything of value in your car.

really? damn. the reviews i saw were decent, but now that i dig a little deeper it sounds kinda sketchy

There's quite a few at Woodlawn and I77 that aren't bad. I think a ramada and four points Sheraton. Check reviews to be sure. You might spend a little more, but it's worth it.

I have no idea if the race crowd will affect those or not.

only crappy part is i did it on priceline and it's nonrefundable

I'm not sure it's that bad. I might be more worried about my car and the cleanliness, but I've known people who've stayed there with no problem. That was a long time ago, but that area hasn't changed.

On the plus side, you're close to some great breweries.

You'll probably be fine. At the risk of sounding snobbish (but really probably just shows my age) there are some places I just feel too grossed out to stay in, even if they're technically just as clean. I've never stayed there, just driven by it, so I'd say check the reviews on that.
