Not everyone gets there that early. Why not buy one before and be positive that you have it instead of gambling and waiting?

We did VIP parking last year. Will never go back to the regular lots!!! Got there as soon as the gates opened and were right across from the entrance. Was soooo much better.

Did both last year. Had our VIP prior to the show, but still showed up before the gates opened. Don't want to miss out on any of that precious tailgate time.

I had to work until 3:30 last year. It rained my whole way up and I got there around 7:00. I usually work a full day with no lunch or leave at lunch when shows are like 3 hours away. Saves vacation time for more traveling.

This will be my first trip to Blossom. How is the tailgating experience there?

Just don't be stupid or drinking underage and you should be fine. I'd recommend solo cups. Not sure about grills.

That was an absolute disaster! Some people were really stuck, and had to be towed / pulled out by someone with a truck. Luckily we were parked on the high ground, and my friend's car had 4 wheel drive, so we were able to get out with no problem. Some of the back roads were closed due to flooding.

nope. they are pretty strict at Blossom because it's in a National Park

no big grills and solo cups are a must

and they patrol the lots in squad cars constantly

you can still tailgate, and its still fun, just remember these few pointer

Thanks! VA Beach is like that. Technically, VA Beach is no tailgating. However, each year there is plenty of tailgating but the cup is the must. Bristow is more loose. My first shows, at Starlake, was no holds barred.

well thats because Starlake is the #BestTailgate

and there are signs all over the Bristow lots that say "No Tailgating" but they don't care at Bristow

Blossom, however, they care....but you can still drink and have a good time, just need to take the proper measures

THey also have a few unmarked cars that patrol the lots, but you know its them...only car making rounds through areas that are completely filled with cars already.

So it sounds like the tailgate is the exact opposite of alpine. Thats ok though. It's just going to be my fiance and i making the trip from Wisconsin so we won't be getting too rowdy. We can save that for alpine.

Trying to weigh my WH risk. I have Cuyahoga, VA Beach and Bristow hanging in the cart for now, with Bristow as my priority show. I have a Citi card end route. How difficult is it selling uppers for Blossom, in the event WH gives me that?

Thinking of pulling VA Beach all together and trying Citi and TM, because VA Beach uppers are a dime a dozen

I don't think you'll have any trouble selling them. It's a weekend show, and I want to say (though I'm not sure) that Blossom's reserved section is on the lower end of capacities for the amphitheaters that DMB plays.

Never been to Blossom but thinking of making the trip now that I live in MI and the timing looks good being a Saturday in May. Probably making the trip with a few friends and we were looking at camping options near by. The few I found were Streetsboro / Cleveland SE KOA or Stow Silver Springs Park. Has anyone here stayed at either and would recommend them? What was the experience like, how far to the venue? Or are there any others campsites close by I may have overlooked. Thanks in advanced and looking forward to the show!

One would have to believe this show will sell pretty good. I've seen several people on these boards say they will be heading to Blossom for the first time. I fall into that boat as well. I guess with the show being on a Saturday, it affords more curious minds to check it out!

Im excited this show is in may instead of back to back with burgettstown. This is really the first time ill be able to see the band in one tour over a span of a couple months

Camping options suck in this area (at least in proximity to the venue)....if you are planning on drinking at all, I'd split the cost of a hotel room with your buddies, much closer.

Pavilion will be sold out. Lawn will not.

As a life long clevender let me tell you that many of us hate this venue. Location and traffic are the two main reasons. DMB is the only rock concert I will drag myself to that place for anymore. The walk from the grass lots are about a mile if you can see the road from where you park.

The venue is a wonderful place to hear a concert. Get the pavilion. Ohio natives can tailgate with the best, but some folks o. The lawn kind of suck. True for most shows I've been to.

I see people taxi in. So it must work. But I just have never noticed any waiting on the way out. The whole in the national forest is cool, but you're so far from anything else it's tough. I saw some mention Peninsula. It's an awesome town, get there super early. It gets packed before shows. Hudson is a great alternative for restaurants. There aren't any great hotels near. You'd have to venture up to Cleveland for a nicer place.

everyone i know from the area and/or who frequents blossom loves the venue

and most amphitheaters are in parks or remote locations. so that's not really a big deal

I do agree about the parking lot thing, though. What really sucks is, the lots aren't that well-lit at night; so even if you remembered perfectly (or wrote down) what section you parked in, it can be tough finding your car after the show.

Plus backtracking is a pain in the ass if you're walking against the flow of foot traffic.

Drove past the Venue exit on my way home for the Cavs game this weekend. The struggle is real to not put my ticket request in for this show, it really is.
