A few notes from my whiskey adventures over the past few months....
right now drinking Colonel E H Taylor Barrel Proof - which is fantastic. Makers Cask strength is really good...if you like Makers, you'll love its more concentrated form. Also recently (FINALLY) found a bottle of Angel's Envy Rye which is finished in Rum casks...this stuff is AMAZING and totally worth the price (I was NOT a fan of the standard Angels Envy). I've got some Sazerac cocktail mixture (Bulleit Rye, Bitters, brown sugar, Absinthe) sitting in a 1 liter oak barrel...I had hoped to age it for 4-6 weeks, but now it seems unlikely to make it that long. Sazeracs are THE cocktail...can't believe I went 30+ years without having one.
And finally...it's that time of year. The BTAC collection has just hit a few states
http://bourbonr.com/blog/2015-buffal...release-map-2/ , so time to start stalking your favorite liquor store. Also, I hear the Four Roses LE Small Batch is pretty ridiculous this year. Pappy, EC 18+ year, and Birthday Bourbon out soon too. Happy hunting.
