Pit tickets are difficult. Orchestras aren't too hard. They are usually obtainable in the WH ticket exchange or Ant's ticket exchange.
Getting to the venue is actually pretty simple. It's just one parkway that is mainly used for two things, going to the beach and going to the show. Therefore, for the most part, there is no traffic near the venue. Getting out is hit or miss. Since the venue is off on its own (not near any business or streets with traffic lights), they usually just let cars pour out of the lot and back onto the parkway.
If you are planning on staying in NYC, and plan on using public transportation, you'd take the Long Island Railroad from Penn Station to either Freeport or Wantagh and take a cab (or uber) from there to the venue. The train ride is really simple. There are no transfers or anything. It's a straight shot.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
