From what I was told there's no place to tailgate so a few "locals" are planning to set up a bar crawl or something (for us out of towners) as our "tailgate" before the show.

Yeah ive been to columbus enough to know there wont be much tailgating. All parking is in garages. Theres a bunch of bars close by. I have friends who live just outside of CBus, 5 -10 minute drive so im guessing ill start my boozing there and take it to a bar after.

status quo for nationwide arena

Nationwide was actually really nicely set up for dead & co. Its not a very large arena so even the upper level was pretty nice. We sat in the front row in 318 ( upper level to the left of the stage) and passed around a few joints with no problem. Though the front row was separated off from the rest of the section. Its almost like an overhang at the railing, and theres a cement wall that extends up behind your head, gave you a little privacy from everyone else. Sound was really good too, only problem was the speaker stack blocked a bit of the stage.

the stadium seats 105,000 people

DMB couldn't book a venue that big even if the tickets were free and they were giving out free blowjobs at the concession stands

We have no more places for concerts of larger size that are outdoors. Most we can hold outside is like 10k.

Better book a room now. I booked my room on the 19th and there was only 1 hotel in the surrounding area(walking distance) that had availability.

Stick to Uber/Lyft in Pgh, the cabs are terrible.

I believe there are several Hyatt's in the airport area, so you will have to specify which one. There is a Hyatt Place (6011 Campbells Run Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15205) that would be good for your needs of access to the venue and downtown since it is right on 376. Same with the Holiday Inn Express and Courtyard just to the east of the Hyatt Place.

I gave some people back road pointers in previous years to avoid the 22/30 back up when getting off the exit, which a few people used and I assume was useful from the thanks I received. I figured I would post options again this year to help people out. I picked a random starting point for these to show the route.

I think the toll is 50 or 75 cents.

You are probably right and I should have included that was a tip for their trip(s) downtown to PNC.

I would not risk taking an Uber to Star Lake. One might take you to the venue, but are you definitely risking no one picking you up and being stuck there.

I was going to check post concert last year to see if there were any Ubers waiting outside the venue but then I ate cookies and forgot.

Only chance would be if you tip your driver well on the way there and make sure he's gonna be there to pick you up. Otherwise youre SoL
